Okay, so our FC just recently met its goal to upgrade from a small plot to a medium. We went ahead and purchased the plot and home under the assumption that we would be able to relinquish our current FC property, ultimately changing the medium personal to FC. We soon discovered that we can't. If we demolish the house, will we be able to change the settings over? Because its either we are out 1 mil if its possible or out almost 9 mil if we can't. Can we contact SE or what? It shouldn't be this ridiculous to change something so minor, but its really starting to look that way...

All I can say is "sorry", I guess? Sorry.

You'd have to demolish and relinquish both the personal home and your current FC house (and/or sell your FC to someone else who wants your current house and start-over with a new FC) before you'll be able to buy the new plot of land as an FC house.

You're also probably out of more than 9 million, since once you relinquish the personal house it'll go back on the market for its full starting price (house prices go down over time if they don't get bought, all the way down to half the original cost).

Im sorry that sucks! Sounds like you have a nice FC also! But like FJerome said you have to relinquish the land and then buy it again ; ; I dont know on jenova, but im sure you could maybe sell the small house to a buyer or something to reclaim some of the gil!

Sorry, hopefully you can make enough money with the new garden beds to purchase the house again as the FC.

I'm highly annoyed by the lack of information given about housing in this game. Houses are too expensive for the typical MMO learn by doing mentality.

nah on Jenova, you can't sell houses. As short in supply as they are, subdivisions are about half empty.
But, there are plenty of medium plots available, might as well just keep the medium personal house as a personal house and save up for another one. If anything that's 2 extra garden plots, which with some work you can make your money back on.
