    Anyone can attack any mob?! seriously?

    They are intending to implement this in patch 1.19.

    This is a bad idea imo.. Tethering causing you to loose clam is going to cause issues. Some NMs in specific require you to take them to places that they may very well tether from. Like Mosshorn, You have to take him somewhere with your back to a wall and sometimes he tethers.

    If Some other jerkarse LS decides to be jerkarses "which they will" then they can steal that claim from your LS, even if the mob is at 5%. Tethering will cause you to loose claim.

    I hope they rethink this approach or something. Looks like all kinds of fail waiting to happen.. Don't they test this stuff before they use it? I mean come on..

    I liked this. This will open a brand new way of battle here...like a FFXI besieged! ^^

    You're correct regarding NMs tho. IMO only who got claim should be able to engage a NM and the claim should last a bit longer than common monsters incase you're knocked back outside NM territory. But i believe it will have a separated mechanic, just like they already do now.

    You see...you can support players from other parties that are fighting common monsters, but you cannot help those fighting NMs. I believe this might stay the same...NMs will have their own claim mechanics to prevent abusing from parties that lost claim.

    But the point that annoyed me is the PL potential...think about this...a dude claim a monster tthen a PL, from outside, go and one shot the monster. Mixed with the EXP chaining and link bonus i can see some tremendous exploit potential OTW.

    I believe this was necessary for the planned defensive operation battles coming in 1.19 and beyond.

    I'm not scared of what may happen, if it brings content similar to Campaign, I'm all for it.

    So am i ^^ The non-endgame contents i liked the best in FFXI were besieged and campaign. Actually, i also liked them much more than endgame content too...so much once i was kicked from a dynamis LS because instead of farming (after boss was killed) i went to Al Zahbi to wait besieged =P Hopefully this will be the start of large-scale battle content! ^^

    I also dislike the idea. Even if I get first hit in and therefore get the reward, I would be extremely annoyed if other people killed it and not me. Because then where's the challenge? Where's the fun in a battle if some douche comes along and slaughters your kill for you?

    Only players that are participating in levequests, or in behests, can engage enemies that are specific to those battles.

    This should probably apply to open world NMs

    couldn't they just adjust how long the mobs stay claimed. it appears you are under the assumption that once implemented they will not be able to adjust anything.

    Being a douche.. You haven't met enough of them in game yet? I have..
    Douches don't need motivation, that's what makes them douches..
    I'm also worried about emnity. The last time a system like this was in place it allowed people to build emnity on the mob then eventually steal it form u. If they can redirect the mobs hate, it will cause hell in NM. Causing the NM to flail n what not.
