World of Darkness Loot Suggestion #2

Yesterday, after obtaining the wrong gear from the WoD, I felt so upset that I just left the group and turned off the game. I felt guilty for doing that, so I decided to discard the loot I had gotten as a sort of compensation for abandoning the group. That's when I thought of an idea. Why not make it so that if the loot in question is discarded, it resets the timer for the week in which it was obtained? That way, even if someone somehow ends up with the wrong loot in their possession, if they discard it, the timer will be reset. And it wouldn't carry over into the next week obviously, so people couldn't cheat and get two drops for that week. The loot could have it's own "timer" specifically for that week in which it was obtained. I say a player should be able to do this however many times they want within a given week, but a "one loot drop time reset per week" limit could be imposed to help balance things.

This sounds like a good idea in theory, but thereis a minor issue. When something is unique, usually meaning you can only possess one of said item, there is already a bypass in place for that system. Think of the alexandrite maps as an example, technically you can only have 1 but bygiving your retainers on an deciphering one yourself, you can hold 4, or more, at any given time, depending on how many retainers you have. This is similar to the loot lockout; just because I don't have the item on me doesn't mean I didn't get my weekly item.

But I do think they need to adjust the way we obtain the items. Something to prevent rage quiters, accidentally getting an item, and to allow us to get an item we actually want/need. I remenber someone suggesting a "run" system, where we can exchange tokens for completing the raid and exchange them for the items in question, the can still add a loot lock out and prevent the tokens from exceeding the amount for an item, and from dropping after you get your weekly.
