I sympathise with your cause - shark fin soup is disgusting (the concept of how it's done, it's inhumane and pathetic)...but it IS a game. We have a hunting log that makes us kill little bunnies for shits and giggles :/ I think we crossed the line ages ago.

I used the "it's just a game" rationale until I read the description. Plenty of other games have Shark Fin Soup. But the quote I mentioned above did not sit with me right. It is a completely unnecessary fabrication. It makes you wonder why it is in the description at all. It is also a lie used IRL to justify this shameful practice. If SE is going to use a game for political agenda then I'm going to speak up.

Seriously? Dude, I am never surprised by the ridiculous attention to detail people have on the official forums.

Literally come to look at GD and I always see... "Make our character blink more often", "Give our characters fingernails", " Please render belts", "Can you please give us a nose hair slider?". I never thought a community could complain about pretty much any facet of a game.

Including a dish that is tied to an extremely destructive real world industry, and promoting it as a positive thing is problematic. I would hope that this game would never promote actions such as poaching, or whaling, so why is shark fin soup here? If it were something that Baelsar ate to show what a dick he is then I'd be fine with it, but it's not.

All it would take is a name/ingredient change, really. Pugil Fin Soup works just fine.

There is poaching involved: the titan quests involves us poaching tortois eggs in gridania so some rich guy can eat it. There's chinchillas we kill for fur too. The list goes on. Then there the whole leather working job to consider to. The list goes on.

I would be more concerned with how blatant casual sexual harassment is in this game
