Heavensward Dungeons Needed for Quest Requirement (level 50)

I was reading that you need to finish all the main line quests to get into Ishgard when the expansion comes out. There's a few dungeons that are required as you level up to complete quests. My character is level 43 so I'm thinking the only two level 50 dungeons I have left that will be "required" as part of the quest line are Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium.

Are any of the others needed to progress to the end of the 2.5.5 quest line?

I'm going to try to do as many as I can to get geared up but was curious about this aspect of the progression requirements.

Going to need to do Mog, Levi, Ramuh, Snowcloak, Shiva, Keeper of the Lake, Chrysalis, Steps of Faith.

Those are the only mandatory dungeons that I can recall.

As you do the End Game Story, you'll be told to go and do dungeons. I believe that is only for Snowcloak and Keepers of the Lake. So those two for sure will be needed as Dungeons, as well as Moogle King, Leviathen, Ramuh, Shiva and Steps of Faith.

But only the HM version of those Primals, tops.

Just remember that you only have to do the "story" (HM - there is no "normal mode") versions of those primals. In other words, you only have to beat each primal once during the story. You don't have to any Extreme primals, and you don't have to do the HM versions of the first three (Ifrit, Garuda, Titan), and you don't have to fight Odin.

In addition to the trials and dungeons mentioned above, I believe that one of the early post-game quests requires you to run a lower level dungeon that wasn't required for the main story (Qarn (normal)?)

The quests are actually quite quick to burn through though, and the vast majority are either pure dialogue or fetch/courier "go from point A to point B" quests. Getting to the end before Heavensward isn't really that hard. It should only take you a few hours, honestly, and most of that is waiting in queue for the trials/dungeons (or running the trials/dungeons).

2.5 MSQ requires having completed Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan HM.

From the end of 2.0 you have about 10-15 hours of running around and doing stuff to finish the main quest line...
plus another 10 hours if you want to follow the story and watch cutscenes...
plus time spent queues waiting on the dungeons/trials...
plus time gearing up to be able to handle the dungeons/trials.

If you have gil squirreled away I suggest buying the 110 crafted weapon when you hit 50, it's moderately cheap (especially for WHM) and a huge boost for a while. If you know someone that can craft 4 star carpenter, you can probably get them to make you one for at least 20-30% off the MB price, maybe as low as half price.

Huh, really? That could be right, but I don't see that requirement on the Lodestone, and I don't remember it... The HMs just lead to the Ex and Coil quests, according to Lodestone.

Nope, nope, I see it now. Sorry about that! Yeah, you have to do all of the HM primals, including the first three. Not that they're hard or anything.

Don't forget the 2.1 story also requires you to do formerly 'optional content' to continue in the main scenario as well (the first five Guildhests and the Sunken Temple of Qarn). No doubt this was a subtle nudge by the development team to get players actually doing this content, as it was mostly ignored prior to that (Guildhests were considered worthless and Qarn had annoying mechanics originally).

Oh i forgot about that annoying story quest where it sends you to do guildhests. It's a good idea to unlock guildhests up to like level 40 it makes you do two of them as quests the first i think is level 10 then one at 35. That's the dumb part of the storyline the rest is pretty easy lots of fetch quests and a few easy story primals. The Crystal Tower side quests are optional but worth doing for easy and fast gear progression.
