DRG = best melee dps right now?

The melee classes are balanced atm.

Each has pros/cons and is where it should be for the most part.

Not sure where you are getting some of your information from, but the only time DRG ever has higher DPS than MNK or NIN is inside of their 20 second burst window.

Overall, DRG has the lowest Single Target sustained damage of all 3 melee classes( they are very close to NIN, but MNK is ahead of them both)

DRG has better burst and better AoE DPS than the other 2 melee classes though, so it balances out fairly well. I am pretty happy with current melee balance.

IN short fights or situations that require a very high damage.. aka burst damage, DRGs are the top. But for longer fights MNK and NIN will be ahead of the DRG. At this point SE has done a decent job balancing all 3.

DRG could use a utility buff, they are pretty lacking compared to the power(dragon kick and sneak attack) the other two melee bring.

Nah I think Dragoons need a nerf. We should have jumps 2.5s animation lock back. Heavy Thrust should be reduced back down to a 5% buff (like launch), all of our jumps should be put on a 2 minute cooldown. On top of that, Dragoons now have the "loldrg" debuff when entering combat and automatically die if they've been in combat longer than 2 minutes.

I think those are balanced changes and should put the Dragoon in line with a White Mage in terms of DPS

Dragoons don't need utility. I'm guessing 90% of all raid groups have a bard, some even roll 2. Disembowel up 99% of the time is still a big dps increase for that one class, maybe even more than a trick attack every minute for all classes. No content requires dragon kick. If your other classes are shit hot, succor, sacred soil, virus, storms path, fey covenant, eye for eye are enough to mitigate any incoming damage. Dragoons are fine as they are in my opinion.
