WIN DAT PONY – A more efficient pony farming LS (?)

For all my mad pony farming adventurers out there this linkshell is for you! As well as using this linkshell to form normal parties to farm. I am going to attempt running half/half parties. Where half of the group has pony X (but not pony Y) and the other pony Y (but not X). With this we will farm each pony in agreed set numbers before we start. For example, we can run 10 ifrits then 10 shivas. For people that may not be able to stay that long in the group maybe even smaller numbers, 3-5 of each trial before we alternate for the other half of the group.


I don’t know if people have done this or something along this line and on what scale. So I apologize if a similar concept or LS already exists. Not trying to copy anyone.

Efficient probably isn’t the word for this LS but it sure will increase the chances of you winning the damn pony when that whistle drops. Only thing is you need to be willing to give up some of your time to farm for someone else’s drop. (Always nightmare to obtain, another incentive to farm a primal if you have their mount already or vice versa).

Personally I would rather do this than constantly going into groups where the whole party needs the same mount. The other reason why I thought of this method is because we know RNG is a bitch. I won my first 3 ponies via DF(Levi and Titan) and a farm group (Garuda) each winning on the first ever time I’ve seen the whistle drop. So RNGeesus has been good to me then but lately I’ve seen over close to 20 Aithon whistles, approx 4 Nightmares and 3 Boreas (over the course of a 4 day farm session, targeting Ifrit via PF/Farming LS’s) and not won a single one.

I also have FC members that have started farming for these ponies well before me and have yet to win their first pony due to shit rolls or being out rolled by 1 or 2 (Occurring numerous times). So I hope this LS can help others that are struggling to win DAT roll.



Essentially this is just another pony farming LS but I will try attempting to run these half/half groups and will encourage other to do the same. (Although it will be harder to form these groups). When filling in extra spots for these half/half groups with people that don’t own either of the pony we are farming for, we can possibly agree for them to only roll on 1 of the 2 ponies we are farming. Eg filling last 2 spots of our half/half group one gets to roll on pony X the other pony Y. Obv this comes down to people being honest and not rolling on everything.

So this is just a concept that I want to put into action and I have a few in the LS already and I’m pretty sure I can fill this LS up once I get round to recruiting in game too (busy with rl and shit). 15 members and increasing ^^ Will attempt to run a garuda/ifrit split group tonight or something else. Post here or contact me in game for an invite. If I'm not available /tell Blitz Ace, Blessed Angel and Yoshiya Felis for one. I'm also keeping track of what pony people own to make group formation easier but like I said once enough ppl are use to this split group method could just shout in LS or anywhere for split groups.

Successful runs but no pony drop and people are tired but this method is working and I'm sure the more people that join the LS the better and easier it will be for people to get their drops
