What do you guys think of the new forums?

ya ppl are not brain storming ideas they are debating others ideas of being good or bad. This community is screaming "fansite" to me. This is ffxiv official forums. A window into the actual games community. If i was a newbie looking for a new mmo to play, and saw 1/2 the stuff going on. I just turn and walk away feeling the community is subpar of what I'm looking for.

I'm pretty agressive in my posting, but only out of the fact that i want this game good. I want to be able to buy it on ps3, and play it. I want this community to be how ffxi was 5 years ago.

These forum are not nice, friendly and newbie friendly. All you have are mindless/souless rants of features in the game. (most with out proper detailed suggestion about a fix) or is about a proper detailed suggestion about a fix and all ppl do is rip it apart because they can't see past how something is currently done. Or just complain for sake of.

Like I suggested markert wards be larger open locations and just because I said bigger ppl complained.

Brainstorming is normally completely useless without discussion. Forums are, by definition, a discussion environment, and discussion can and will include criticism, counterpoints and alternative suggestions.

If SE wanted just brainstorming, the feedback form that we had since the very beginning of the game would have been pretty much sufficent and there would be no reason for a forum at all.

that's , by the way, pretty much the same way in which things work in any normal game development team. If an idea can't survive forum discussion and criticism, you ca be sure it won't survive discussion and criticism between the dev team
