Its not a ps3/4 issue; its the issue of people AFKing because there's too many people in the instance. This happened way before that announcement anyways.

Otherwise, the devs need to deal with afkers in general. Find ways to kick people who have windows on display to bypass their autokick function

That bypass hasn't been needed in forever. They straight up did away with the auto-kick.

I agree that there should be an auto-boot for inactivity, not just for this but in general.
Something like inactive for an hour or so seems fair to me.

How about restricted everyone only could stay in GS for n hours within a period(every 18hr / daily reset),
I think then ppl will leave the zone immediately instead of AFK.

I think Gold Saucer is a bit different than you normal patch week rush.

GS is like a different game all on it's own and people will play FFXIV just for Triple Triad alone, then there's the people that wanna chocobo race a lot. Those two main attractions will keep Gs booming for longer than your standard patch perhaps for a very long time.

The easiest way to alleviate the rush would be to open starting city Chocobo Racing counter. You do not have to be in Gold Saucer to do racing but you can still race with ANY other participants from all other four zones. Which is what FFXI did. This way you split the crowds into 4 zones. As well as add special "city casino" and put those triple triad NPC on another three other zones, each cities will have their own NPCs in a special zone with their exclusive rare cards to have. The crowds will disperse fast since you only do the other mini games and active time events on Gold Saucer and the weekly - daily lottery. The other two major attractions split into three other zones.

Why should you have to even be in the zone to queue for chocobo racing? They should it in DF and only allow a player to queue up for that and that only, just like all of the roulette's they have currently. You can't queue up for multiple roulette's AND other duties at the same time, just make it so you can only queue for chocobo racing. You should be allowed to "use food" through the Golden Saucer-> Chocobo window, why is there a need for a NPC? Same for adding traits, or removing them. Why couldn't that all be used in the menu like your Champion? This would free up a lot of people just standing around at the chocobo stand.

Agreeing with booting AFKers. On High pop servers, people just standing around AFK for hours on end isn't helping things, that's for sure.

I'm convinced Balmung wouldn't lock character creation 24/7 except after maintenance like it has been lately if they did this. I'll never understand why they removed it in the first place.

I would say implement the afk boot system they had until this dies down some.
