I'm not entirely sure that it's meant to be played with such intensity over a short period of time in order to farm cards, I think the intention was for it to be an aside to the main game that people can pick up and put down as they go. Honestly if people play 50+ matches against 1 NPC every day for 2-3 days and get bored, it serves them bloody well right.

Precisely. If OP feels the need to grind out as many triple triad cards in a single day as you can and then complain about the 'grind' that's their own fault for turning something meant to be inherently casual into it.
