Problem with it being a side quest is the games "story" is so short that this is really all players have to do. Especially if they don't do coil or have no staticI'm not entirely sure that it's meant to be played with such intensity over a short period of time in order to farm cards, I think the intention was for it to be an aside to the main game that people can pick up and put down as they go. Honestly if people play 50+ matches against 1 NPC every day for 2-3 days and get bored, it serves them bloody well right.
PS. one definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result...at which point I would refer you to your 1st sentence.

Wow, I haven't even got to play the new patch yet and people are already bitching about grinds. WELCOME TO MMOS, PLEASE ENJOY YOUR STAY!basically you keep doing the same thing over and over and hope that the item you want will drop after 2-3 hours.
why there are so many content in this game that is so painful to play?
always the same thing with boring RNG. Atma, CT/ST/WoD, Triple Triad, Lottery, all different content but designed by the same concept.
Triple Triad is fun but playing with the same NPC for 50+ matches is not fun, and they use the same set of cards in every matches.
people are enjoying it right now, they'll play it for 2-3 days before realize that it's boring.
At least it isn't a mindless grind, FATEs are more or less zergy, TT is a game with mechanics you need to learn etc. ( Same/plus).basically you keep doing the same thing over and over and hope that the item you want will drop after 2-3 hours.

Ummm... it's GAMBLING....that's what gambling is all about /rng.basically you keep doing the same thing over and over and hope that the item you want will drop after 2-3 hours.

PS: the house always wins.

This isn't gambling lmfao.. it is fun though, but it isn't gambling, you have nothing to lose outside of 15 mgp~30 mgp , time, and the odds are always in your favor because you're encouraged to use strategy, which is not luck. The only RNG is the drop rate.

How about this.basically you keep doing the same thing over and over and hope that the item you want will drop after 2-3 hours.

Whatever cards you win you keep, but if you lose them then you have to go and win them back each time.
Sound good? It'll be just like FF8!

I'd actually like that. You can stop treating me like a kindergartener SE, I don't mind my opponents seeing my name in PVP instead of "Black Mage"! Or other players more skilled players taking my cards. If I don't want to lose them I'll get better.

Tell that to the 13-16 year olds playing the game though. Sorry, but the rulset isn't to protect you. It's to protect others.

They should probably not be playing a subscription based game, to be honest. I wouldn't let my children play such a time-consuming game in High School. Not until Junior Year, anyway. This game shouldn't be catered to for that audience, imo.
