What is your favorite job and why?

Feel free to elaborate as much as you want, and even mention jobs not in the game that you'd like to see!

As a martial artist irl, I love playing monk. The idea of non-stop action is exhilarating, and it works just like momentum in real life. Stop for too long and it's over. Abilities like perfect balance and internal release I feel are aptly named, and have everything to do with balancing both mind and body before entering an encounter. The idea of switching stances and having that open up new abilities is also great fun, and to some extent happens in real life martial arts. Of course, touch of death and one-ilm punch remind you of classic Bruce Lee style stuff.

Monk is just so awesomely designed. 10/10.

Second place: Warrior.

My favorite job is Warrior. The job really made me fall in love with tanking. I love the animations with the axe, as well as certain abilities like Unchained. Another thing that makes me love Warrior is it has the feel of recklessness

Black Mage as i enjoy mages in every MMO. Big burst damage. the feeling of "flare kaboom* etc. ya know ^^

The old Version 1.0. with the old combat system i liked also DRG. But now the attacks dont feel that "heavy"/strong anymore.. The feeling of a powerful Dragoon is gone for me personally.

SMN will always hold that place in my heart because moar dots and a summon, that's just my kind of class.

I dont really ever play it anymore though, even though it's my favorite. I usually stick to my monk(best geared job atm) or go tank on my warrior.

Maybe in the expansion they will make a few small adjustments to SMN, and give them better optimized gear sets, I will go back to it.

My favorite job is White Mage. I love big, AoE heals and usually played healers with large party heals in other MMOs. I also really like Holy because the first healer I played in an MMO had a big, AoE holy-damage skill (although it was kind of like Shadow Flare, only with larger damage). Most importantly, I find it really fun and almost zen-like to heal people, but when things get bad, it's exhilarating to heal through those situations, even if annoying at the time. Plus I work well under stress and thinking on the fly.

Smn/Sch: I love fighting with books!! I'm reminded of Alice from Shadow Hearts everytime I play Smn or Shc.
Bard: I love being able to move and fight. Hating playing songs........
Least Favs: Whm and Pld both are stilborn and boring to "ME"
At the bottom and never to seen again list: Monk and Blm, I dont find either fun to play in Dfs.

That feel of recklessness is what I adore about warrior, especially when playing a strength war. Hot damn. And even though Holmgang may not be that amazing the concept is fricking awesome. I love both Hallowed Ground and Holmgang. Hallowed Ground reminds me of Gandolf saying you shall not pass, whereas Holmgang reminds me of the ending to Red Dead Redemption or something similar to that, just beast mode haha.

Scholar is my favourite, mostly because it's the least stressing class to play. Even if I derp and start panicking with tank's health going down and lustrate+aetherflow on cooldown, there's always fairy to save my pride. I also like it the best in PvP (Secure). I also like brain-AFKing dungeons while Eos heals and I just spam dps skills.

Only downside is that scholar-only gear tends to be hidious. Only the fact that they share most gear with white mages save me from fashion disaster. ;D

White Mage. I have never played a healer before and I have been playing MMOs for years. Cleric stance and being able to DPS once I learn an encounter is so much fun. Being able to Holy the crap out of mobs when group with a capable tank makes runs fast and fun. SS, R, M2, Cleric Stance PoM HOLY until it PoM done swiftcast Holy DIE DIE DIE everybody dies

Summoner, because it's the most unique job out of all the DPS classes. Instead of up front brunt damage like like BLM or DRG, it's dots ticking. The whole purpose is to manage timers which I find to be an incredibly novel idea. Plus the job has a pet. While I would like for more interaction with it, for now I'm content. Plus the job has several support abilities, and for what I'm doing, they're nice to have. Overall I think Summoner is a great designed job.
