Posting this to check if this is "Working as Intended" or not. I've beaten Fufulupa in Camp Horizon 37 times so far and I've gotten 1(Thats "one") 1-Star card from him. A Coblyn. Meanwhile he's rocking Raubahn, Thancred, Tataru, Momodi etc....multiple 2 and 3 star cards.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. This is the one feature I gave a crap about in this whole patch series and for it to be this awful is kind of a letdown :<.

I don't understand how card game playing had to hide behind RNG barriers too? Couldn't it have been designed otherwise considering it's something that can have unlimited fun by challenging other players and stuff? Hell they could have put it in duty finder to randomly match you with someone. I don't mind MGP grinding I guess like doing duty finder matches can give you some. But why the RNG?? RNG is soul sucking and drains the fun out of everything like a succubus.

I've not found an opponent who wasn't able to use multiple 'rare' cards. Meanwhile, the game throws a fit if I even so much as TRY to smuggle an extra 2-star card into my otherwise mundane hand. Apparently this restriction eases up once you have 30 cards... but getting those cards is surely the hard part? Especially when your opponents are all apparently without restriction. After all, 30 cards means you own nearly half the entire set!

You can trade MGP for a random chance at a common card, but it costs over 500 MGP, so you'd need to constantly max out your points and then get some extra just for a chance. Incidentally, I got 3 coblyns doing this. Yay. There aren't many good starter opponents either. You can beat the king if you're lucky with the 'Plus' rule, but the cards you win are largely rares which you can't even use more than one of.

The game itself is solid enough, but there definitely needs to be more low strength opponents to test your mettle against which don't require you to have every high level card in the game or abuse rulesets just to stand a remote chance.

Bleh so far it's a little lame, spamming opponents for a chance to get a card, I know it just came out but still, I'm getting duplicates of cards I already have and there just the low level ones.

Maybe I'll have to run some high level content and hope to get a card or two from there? *shrugs*

As a warning about packs. I won 2nd place in the lottery last week (116,000 MGP). So I did the logical thing... I bought 40 Gold packs.

I did not get even 1 card above two stars in 40 packs.

You don't need cards for that, you can do it with 5 cards, in order to win the tournament as it is now, you need to cheat the system and make high ranking people lose on purpose to you.

And thats exactly where it goes wrong!
Neither in FFVIII nor in real life turnament it was such a high pressure to get better cards for wining matches!
