Looking for Dragoon opinions

To start off i understand that Dragoon is not the best dps ever, each job has its strengths and weakness but its the one i fell in love with so i like to try and be the best i can be with it. I have read several forum post and Reddit tags saying crit > det > skill speed after your accuracy cap is reached but with the i130 gear i have available to me i lost a good bit of crit after upgrading, so I'm hoping i can get some opinions on my gear set up and the one question for Dragoon i have. Should you always refresh Chaos Thrust dot even if the previous one had Blood for Blood up?

The "crit > det > ss" is a wrong assumption and not a good approach to equip your job. What matters is how you can optimize your equip at a given accuracy cap. The current stat-weights are:

WD: 9.349
STR: 1.000
DET: 0.327
CRT: 0.233
SS: 0.198

These are the same values you can find in Ariyala BiS solver. About the Chaos Thrust question: if you're doing your rotation in the right way you're going to refresh Chaos Thrust when the previous one is just about to end, if you're clipping Chaos Thrust too soon there's a problem.
About the two sets, the "Det build" one is better (but it's the added STR that makes the difference in this case) but, again, having a DET or Crit build is not the right approach.

Lucael is completely correct.

Have you tried using Ariyala's "My Inventory" and "Best in Slot Solver" functions to optimize your gear? You shouldn't really have to organize your own sets manually; you can just plug your gear into Ariyala's and have it run the numbers for you. Here is my video tutorial if you're not sure what I'm talking about.

My issue with chaos thrust is that i seem to be over writing the dot at about 10 sec left

Your rotation needs work if that is happening.

Then your rotation sucks and you need to visit "A Rotation Reborn" thread and read it once, read it twice, read it 100 times. Then after you've done that, read https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...xkL2IClCQ/edit 100 times more.

Then slay a dummy 1000 times. After you've done that, you'll have 0 issues playing the Dragoon.

Yeah, something must definitely be going on with your rotation if you're clipping CT that severely. I second Dervy's recommendation: A Rotation Reborn and (if I may be so bold) my own guide should both be helpful to you. For a short breakdown, here is my video of the GCD rotation that you should be following.

The normal 24 move DRG Rotation is:
HT -> ID -> Dis -> CT
Ph -> TT -> VT -> FT
HT -> TT -> VT -> FT
Ph -> ID -> Dis -> CT
HT -> TT -> VT -> FT
Ph -> TT -> VT -> FT

This is more commonly written like this to make it easier to see the pattern
HT IDC -> Ph TTT
HT TTT -> Ph IDC
HT TTT -> Ph TTT

Using this method, you should never clip phlebotomize, and never more than 1 tick from chaos thrust. Plus Heavy Thrust and Disembowel will be up 100%

Thank you all for the wonderful advise i have read threw the rotation reborn a few times and watched both of Thendiel's videos for basic rotation and weaving in the off GCD's i'm still rusty at smoothing it all out and having it be one flow but my parse has shown a 50 dps increase with my current gear setup threw the Bis calculator also shown in your video Thendiel thank you all
