Down with Gender Specific Outfits

I was super bummed to find out the bunny outfit is for female characters only.




Could the guys get a bunny outfit as well please? Could you please give this lalafell a bunny outfit please please?

On a much larger note, could we please remove all gender restrictions and make wearable versions for both genders?

Could everyone wear a tuxedo, and hey [minor spoiler] if Hildibrand Manderville himself could wear a dress, why not allow everyone to wear a dress?

In a game with glamours it will only add variety and diversity to gender expression into this game.

Please FFXIV team make this happen. Please remove gender specific items.

You do realize in that same picture you posted there's also 'male' specific gear right? Even your starter gear is race AND gender specific. It's not always a bad thing to have girl/guy only options.

Besides the starter gear anything a man can wear a female can wear too, besides the new "town clothing"... but I mean, really? there are direct female variants.

This isn't the case going the other way though and that's unfair, so they should simply do away with gender locked clothing.

I just proved you wrong in the very quote you quoted. There IS new gear that is being released that is only for Men. I cannot wear it. Just like men cannot wear the bunny ears. (Read the image OP linked closer). Also bathing suit options are gender locked...want to walk around in a girl bikini too? Limits are okay. And bunny outfits are 'town gear' imo as well...will you see them in glamour in dungeons yeah, but 'town gear none-the-less.

And it's not always a 'bad' thing to have gender locked options because it keeps things unique. I don't care if men can wear bunny ears...but it's okay with me that they can't. Also, you know this is a spoof on the 'playboy bunny' thing right? So you lose the spoof if you allow for cross-gender, at least in this case. With the weddings, well in that case I think both genders should have had access to both styles of clothing options because well 'life choices'. But in this specific case, the point was the 'playboy' spoof and it only works with girls.

PS: guys, I actually hate all the 'sexy' looks people go for in this game. I prefer, in general, to keep my character clothed and 'proper' ...but to each their own. I get that. But some design choices, like 'bunny girls' and bikini's are only meant for the ladies. It sucks, but real life kinda works that way too... I have NEVER seen a big bulky man in a bikini on the beach, Transgender person yes....actual 'I self-identify as a man' Nope. Same with bunny suits....sexual bunny suits.

I get being a lala-guy and wanting cute bunny ears....maybe ask for a 'bunny hat' Although we have the spriggan cap/old 1.0 bunny helm.

the problem here is that there is no male variant on the bunny suit. or the spring dress or crescent moon nightgown, the list goes on.

I agree about the gender inequality of the outfits. While I don't mind gender specific outfits, I feel there should always be a version for the opposite gender; and usually it's the male characters who get the short end. Like with the Bridesmaid Dress, that is female specific, but the Best Man Suit, the obvious male version isn't male specific, which isn't right. There is the Spring Skirt also female only, but then there is the Long Skirt, which isn't, why? And there are others that don't even have a male/unisex version. Why do female characters get all of the gender specific outfits and not the guys. Like the new Bunny outfit, okay female only sure, but why can't the guys dress up like a Tanuki or something. Please Square stop giving the guys the short stick. Please either always have an opposite gender option or stop using gender specific items.

Also, while I don't know if you are a guy in real life, my guess would be no, this is a guy issue. This issues exists in real life too, but the restrictions games have, like coding and stuff, don't exist, so the restrictions can be bypassed, some what. I hope this doesn't sound mean, but it's one of those, "you wouldn't understand unless you are a guy" issues; similar to the girl issues guys wouldn't get because they aren't girls.
