Pvp is in a terrible state atm. But what makes it worse? New players who come in who have absolutely no idea what to do and veteran players who still have no idea what to do.

Everyone has to learn some where, but as it currently stands there is no where to learn other than by experience. So if you are new, you either just play aimlessly or get lucky and have someone explain the pvp mode to you.

SEs approach to pvp is archaic and crude. They don't even bother showing players what to do in pvp other than the small tidbits present in the patch notes. But who would read that just to understand the mode?

What SE needs to do is add a tutorial at the beginning of the match. It can be a video tutorial, it can be a written tutorial similar to what is found in the active help menu. It can be either one, but they need one. They need to explain to new players what nodes do, how much they are worth, when they spawn, explain basic strategies to them so at least they have some idea what to do.

They can even explain to them that pvp skills exist, most new players don't know. Some older players still don't know they exist. But again, its not like its specially told to players they do exist.

Pvp is in a poor state not only due to slaughter being a absolutely horrible map design, but its also due to SEs inability to explain pvp mechanics and modes to their player base. A tutorial would go a long way for new players, to take things one step further they could even add a training mode with npcs on a small battle field that simulates what generally goes on in pvp.
