    question about level 50 crafting

Hi there guys and gals, I just recently returned to the game after being away for a long time.

I got weaver to 50, and leatherworker to 50.

My question is this; can someone give me a rundown of the stuff I need to do to craft the better gear and such? And by a rundown I mean a step by step dummy version. Cause Ltw and wvr are the only two I have at 50. Granted I have most of the other crafts to 40...but yeah.

I need help. thanks in advance.

You need Carpenter's Buregot's Blessing to craft after 50 and to craft before 50 hq items from nq. Careful Synthesis 2 is musthave too. So, your nearest goal is leveling all classes to 50. Gear... It think the best way now is getting and melding artisan gear set. It costs, but melds of gear sets for each class will cost more.

Damn, I was hoping I didn't have to level them all to 50 to get the most out of it. Ah well, i was planning on getting them all to 50 eventually anyways. Thanks Alx.

Unless you plan on investing a lot of time in crafting the following is more than enough. Get all crafts to 50, find a decent macro to do 1 and 2 star carfting. Get the i60 crafted gear with a few melds and an i70 main hand, i55 offhand. You can repair your gear up to 199% which is nice if you are in coil or ex fights often. Desynth never hurts if you have time and extra gil. Stop there unless you are taking crafting all the way to 4 star.

In reality you may miss some lvl50 classes - for exaple armorer's Piece by Piece is not needed before 3* crafts...
    Your nearest goals
    - i55 hq craft to make your own gear
    - token kraft to get artisan unmeldable gear and tools and to get books
You may examine macros in these guides

and decide which cross class skills you need
This forum contains such macros too.

But if you plan to go to 3star and more - you need to level all craft classes and min/btn too. After 50 materials costs and you will need a lot of gil to get it on the market.

In my world desynth is not very ineresting now. Simple example - i can pay 60K gil for 10 sandals and get 2 fc3 avg. Or pay 70K and get the same 2 from the market. Great difference )
With mastercraft situation is not so good - tokens can be crafted at near zero price if you have gathering and can cook food youself, but token craft to get dozens artisans takes a lot of time.

Awesome, thanks Alx. I'll do some reading up to see exactly what I need. Luckily I already have min and bot to 50.

You don't "need" all crafts to 50 to start crafting one or 2-stars items HQ from non-HQ. I only have weaver 50 and can still make it with a gear 55 HQ melded.
Basically, I use "Tricks of the Trade" (ALC 15) as soon as the ball is red, combined with "Inner Quiet" and "Rumination" (CAR 15). This technique is based on having "mana" (CP in english?), so to put it simply I use the "basic touch" instead of the standard (which I use only when the status is "excellent"). Of course you'll want to use Steady Hand at all times.

I'm also levelling up the next crafts, but, as for a start, this technique works wonders, assuming you have a nice melded gear. You should have no less than 315 CP, 341 craftsmanship points, and about 345 control points with melding your weaver and jewels gear (I asked that from a friend) and didn't even bother to meld the leatherworker gear (on this point, you have an advantage over me). All this + food and buffs and you'll definitely make it Give it a try ^^

edit : If you have an FC, ask your friends if they can gather you a few crawler's cocoon, darksteel ore, and such, so you will have great chance to get vanya silk HQ and such
