Upgrated PS3 version for PS4 but i can't use the code in ps4. So, i lost ps3 version?

when you do the upgrade you are told you wont be able to play the ps3 version. why anyone with basic understanding of "not able to" would upgrade without having the system itself that they are upgrading to is beyond me.

Well i just wanted to transfer early because i don't use my PS3 anymore, and my ps4 i only will buy in october x.x now i lost my ps3 version and can't upgrade for ps4 anymore... i think they need change this, ONLY upgrade after insert the code with ps4 x.x

Do you have the PSN account? If so, you can log in on the PS Store on the website, and enter the code there, no?
