I always thought they defeated Bahamut with Omega, then some Allagan scientist had the twisted idea of using him as a power source. So they imprisoned as many dragons as they could in the satellite, brought a whole sea of crystals into the center, and forced them to summon Bahamut again within Dalamud; which they probably did willingly at first thinking that Bahamut could save them. Afterwards, the binding coils took care of the rest.

Kind of? It's my understanding that Bahamut was defeated, but not killed - subdued, if you will - and trapped in Dalamund along with test-tube-tortured Meracydians.

I'm gonna take an educated guess and say that the Allagan had more than one Dalamund - devices created for the purpose of containing live primals. That being the case, it would be only natural for Allag scientists to entrap a weakened Bahamut while trying to conquer Meracydia.

But it's probably a more accurate depiction of the Allagan Empire than most consider.

I totaly agree with you Trehavik, there is a Turn on the coils that make sense that the allags could have made a prototipe before making the real scale.

Well, the coils were Dalamund, so the fact that they were rebuilding the sphere for Bahamut-Remade makes sense there. No, I'm drawing my conclusion from A) The fact that the Allagan Empire seemingly got off on entrapping primals, not killing them, and B) "Mini Dalamund", which I found in the "Tour of the North" video.

It looks like dalamund but we arent quite sure if it is a remaking. we have to be closer to be sure. If you take a serious look at the video you will see that the swords that are arround the sphere are like moving

Yoshida confirms that 3 out of the 7 Midgardbabbys are Nidhogg, Tiamat, and Bahamut. He refers to the origins of Bahamut and his summoning as part of a "side story quest". Let's hope the Delivery Moogle takes us to Meracydia!
According to the 2.5 Part 2 website, one of the 7 Midgardbabbys might be Vishap.

They didn't exactly elaborate on that "seal" that was supposedly broken either.
