I know this is a monster work in progress and many portions of code seem to be getting reworked from scratch (linkshell system?/party search features?/retainers?). These all come with the "things take time please be patient". I want to encourage friends and family to take another look at FFXIV but I don't want to until these "server issues" are a thing of the past. Even if its a VERY ROUGH TIMELINE I'd like to have some kind of general idea as when i can invite my friends back. They are not going to put up with spending 20min. trading items back and forth with retainers because there is a 1-3 second lag between every single button click. When they can join my linkshell even if they are not sure if they plan to stay. I can't offer them the space simply because if they dont' log back on i'm stuck with them forever in my shell (can't kick ppl who are not online and next to you). Party search interface is a disaster. These all are things waiting for the "server issues" to be taken care of.

So when are we getting these fixes in? by end of 2011? Spring 2012? PS3 launch?

When the work is almost ready they will announce it in a letter.

If you search around the forums im sure a lot of the issues have been addressed and they are working on it.

LOL at asking when the core issues with the game are going to be worked on. I didnt' ask for a date anywhere in my post I asked for a "ROUGH TIMELINE".

Something like: We are reworking the entire DB from OODBMS -> RDMBS. This requires us to completely rewrite our DB access code for linkshell/inventory/retainer/buying-selling/trade. This is in progress currently and we expect it to take between 6 months and 1 year. When its complete you will experience a DRAMATIC reduction in transaction time when interacting with the above said items.

Please show me where they confirm they are CURRENTLY working on any of the issues I listed. Admitting there is an issue and saying they will look into it is not the same as saying the fix is in progress, we have identified the problem and are solving it now.
