The Navigator. Someone who gets lost as much as I do needs all the help they can get.
Shockingly I almost never get lost in this game...huh...

Never understood why there are such useless options in some games. For example choosing a guardian deity in this game does not have any impact on the game or the plot. It's just there to puzzle new players who will not know what to choose and for what reason. I know that some people like such things that build up the huge lore but those options do not have any impact in game thus they are totally useless.

It's more of a relic from 1.0, where they apparently had an idea of SOMETHING they wanted to do with it beyond resist bonuses, but ultimately it didn't pan out.Never understood why there are such useless options in some games. Now it's pretty much there just to make characters a bit more diverse.

That, sadly, is totally true. :/ Personally, I still hope they are gonna do something with them... sooner or later.Never understood why there are such useless options in some games. Lots of people can use it for roleplay and such. Also I think it's pretty cool.Never understood why there are such useless options in some games. Though, honestly, I'm surprised MORE people haven't answered like this... I was wondering how many people chose because they thought about it vs because they had to.
I'm hoping in the future they do something with it, too. That'd be neat. Like, a spell, or armor, or something.

That would be awesome. It could be something like there is a unique piece of themed glamour gear (or potentially a whole outfit) that you could get based on who your guardian is.
It could even be a whole set of quests where you prove to the Twelve that you are worthy of their blessing and the items/gear is gifted to you as a token.

I chose Nophica the Matron because no self-respecting elezen would ever pick anyone else.

I chose Menphina, because both Marik and I are lovers, not even just for romantic love. I believe in all love! Love prevails and triumphs over all, it's the greatest force here and in Eorzea <3
Also... DAT Ice attribute attached to it... I love ice <3

Menphina, the Lover. Her being linked to my favorite element, ice, and anything relating to the moon drew me to her. And then I remember reading she had Fenrir as her personal guard hound, which sealed the deal. Funny enough my partner at the time chose Oschon at random. I didn't make the connection they were divine lovers until after.
