    Enemy remaining health in numbers?

    Howdy!

I'm simply wondering, is there any way I can toggle on an interface option that allows me to see my target's remaining health in a fraction?

(i.e. X/Y health remaining instead of just X%)

Obviously, you can turn on remaining health in percents, and that helps, but I'd prefer fraction numbers, as it gives me a more accurate read of information. Pretty much every other MMO does it, I'm a little confused to why FFXIV doesn't make it standard.

Also, I'm on Ps4 exclusively, so I can't download any unofficial mods or addons.

The only way to do it other than a percentage is with ACT/FFXIV-APP overlays.

Not to sound mean but you do realize percentages are fractions. What you want is an actual display of the remaining HP like 3000/10000, which admittedly may look like a fraction but isn't.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

No, they're not. Percentages are convertible to fractions, and some fractions are convertible to percentages. (If you allow some loss of precision through rounding, then all fractions can be roughly converted to percentages.)

No, that one really is a fraction.

I think I will rephrase to help you better understand what I meant. Percentages, decimals, and fractions are basically all the same thing but are just different ways of expressing the same numerical value, ie. 1/3 is 33.3% or .333. However fractions are a bit different as the can express the whole in a greater number if need be; 8/24, 6/18, 4/12, 2/6, all are equal to 1/3, but the fraction shows that the whole is greater than 3 pieces, or so.

I am aware that it is a fraction. Now while there is no way for me to explain without it seeming like I'm trying to argue a fact, I'll just leave it at that.

Personally, I don't think having xHP/xHP would be a good idea. I think most MMOs avoid it because people can focus on the remaining numbers instead of what is going on around them--even the healers can fall prey to this tunnel vision, and when people start ignoring mechanics and healers stop healing, people are gonna die. You can imagine how awful this would end up in something like a 24-man raid.
