Hurricane is really doing a lot of damage on the east coast for north carolina&south carolina. Can we get some free playing time. My prayers out to my fellow players out there.

How...exactly is someone who had to evacuate their home or lost power supposed to take advantage of that, exactly?
SE may consider extending the demolition timer for housing but can't imagine them giving anything away for free.
I think it'll depend on how long the affected areas are without power. So far the estimates for most power to be returned is "a couple of weeks, perhaps a month", and that's literally for < 1/4 of each state, NC and SC (I know, because I'm currently sitting in my apartment in Raleigh, where I've had power the whole time, talking to my family in Goldsboro, who have also had power the whole time.)
Firstly I don't think they've given free time for any of the disasters I've played through (Maria, Harvey, the Japanese earthquakes), they only "freeze housing demos", and secondly, I've never seen any indication that they'll do it for such a small subset. Once we come out of this and we can see what the final effects are my opinion may change, but I currently don't think they'll even do that.
Now, that doesn't mean that individuals who are affected by the storm can't contact customer service and talk one-on-one about reimbursement for lost playtime or perhaps freezing their subscription, but I can't see it being a blanket offer.
As someone riding out the hurricane now, I’ve never heard of free time being given out to players effected by natural disasters in the past as it would be pretty hard to determine when to give out the time as recovery can be different for everyone, and it probably would be near impossible for se to determine which accounts were most effected. Depending on how bad it ends up being (reports say flooding will be extensive), I would appreciate a stop on housing demolition as I assume many others in the effected areas would too.

Typically free game time is given if the company at fault for a lack of service, for example if SE's FFXIV servers were down for a week they may refund a week of game time. However SE aren't responsible for a natural disaster, so it's doubtful anyone would get refunded game time. I hope they do pause house demolition though. As someone riding out the hurricane now, I’ve never heard of free time being given out to players effected by natural disasters in the past as it would be pretty hard to determine when to give out the time as recovery can be different for everyone, and it probably would be near impossible for se to determine which accounts were most effected. If the disaster is destructive enough, SE may temporarily halt demolition based on the data center if they deem it so/players are asking for it if the destruction is massive in a very short time. Japanese centers had theirs halted for an earthquake or two already this year. North American centers had theirs halted last year when the hurricanes tore through the Gulf and practically bulldozed Puerto Rico. You didn't notice it was halted at all?
This is true. Only time I personally know of them reimbursing game time was that huge earthquake and tsunami several years ago due to it effecting SE and forcing them to shut the servers down for several weeks.Typically free game time is given if the company at fault for a lack of service, for example if SE's FFXIV servers were down for a week they may refund a week of game time. You mean this one?In an example of what would fall under "compensation", I'm just going to throw this out there in regards to billing temporarily halted and put on hold in whole in the only time I experienced it years ago due to major earthquakes knocking Japan on its ass and many companies had to comply to shut down things unnecessary for survival for energy conservation, SE services included, since game servers are not high on the priority list in times of severe emergency: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/pol...ews20541.shtml
