Also, on the same kind of note - first time i did ifrit, went onto a group on pf, went into instance, two people outright said nope this isn't on and left.

I explained to the party lead i didn't have my kill, but purely because i hadnt actually tried, and was sure i could do it. He was fine with that and let me stay while we rebuilt the party.

Who then went on to one shot it xD

I look at it this way:

    - If you preform you have the right to bitch, to an extent

    - If you DF it then STFU. If you want ppl to meet your needs then create a party or don't bitch.

I don't mind if new people join in for clear attempts or farms as long as they basically know what to do. And I'd rather they ask questions beforehand rather than cause a stupid, easily-avoided wipe. For that matter, a wipe or two is probably inevitable on any hard content if it's not with friends you always play with. Groups often need a shot to really mesh before things click.

So many people in this game are always in such a ridiculous rush that it amazes me. They act as if they're not going to be here months or years later still farming things. Pay a fee to treat a game like a job and the chump isn't the lower ilvl person enjoying the game; it's you.

Somehow I went into T4 with five i70 pieces, my weapon included, to bond them all at once and never once got called out on my low stats. Instead I got like four commendations each time I ran.
I don't understand Duty Finder groups sometimes... I was expecting an experience similar to the OP's.

Yesterday I ran Thornmarch EX for the very first time with my iLvl 100 PLD. I had watched some videos and the like but actually emulating what you see in the video clips is quite difficult first time out. As a PS4 player I've had the targetting headache from day 1. So as a direct result of me not being able to target effectively and not being able to tank swap right away we completely wiped... honest mistake and it just takes some practise to get used to... The other tank though... he went absolutely nuts! He was typing abuse at me in all caps for about 5 minutes. At one point he even said "IF YOU EVER TRY TO TANK THIS FIGHT AGAIN I'LL KILL YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!"
The community has been welcoming and friendly for the most part in my experience but I do often run into these nutjobs, especially during high level content like WoD etc I can't help but think that the game would benefit greatly from having players like this reprimanded in some way at least.

Lol i just said the chance to be a pain in the backside increases with Tanks. There are several Tanks I've seen regularly in EXDR or Raids that have been brilliant. They are good and know they are good but they don't use the fact they are good to belittle others and take advantage of them by demanding player X is kicked because he is new or doesn't have the best gear or they will leave etc.

Just recently i had this nightmare Tank in KotL who derped into every trash AoE after taking on a huge mob and getting themselves killed, Not using CD's correctly and each time they died from this while i tried my best to spam heal them while keeping the DPS alive who one of them was doing the exact same thing the Tank would make some snarky comment towards me. Ignored it completely and on the last boss the Tank then decides to pull the Dragon add into the other add so it interrupts everyone trying to use the switch and survive the wipe mechanic. Had to explain why it's a bad idea and they still tried to act like they were right until the DPS backed me up that the Tank just comes into the shield when it spawns.

On the other hand there are plenty of players i run into again in DF that i am glad to see because i know it'll be a good experience.

No unnecessary rudeness or qq, but you would be replaced in favor of someone that has actual experience on that specific job in that fight.
100% agree. It should be known universally that a farm group expectation is having fast clears and that means playing on jobs you have experience and are comfortable clearing the instance with. If there is a certain piece of loot you are after for another job, you can request a claim or roll if it's a greed-first setup.

    @RoganJosh

All caps is reason enough to report.

Consider though that older content like Thornmarch Ex video guides were written a long time ago and do not increase for ilvl increase and adapted/better strategies that have since developed.

I didn't find the guides on Thornmarch much help either, it took a few DF attempts.

My own rule is to man up and tell the group I'm new, and ask for advice.

Some groups simply are not receptive, either don't respond or just with " ;/ " or " lol " after wipes

In these situations I'll be the first to vote abandon. Funny though in 75% of new raids/bosses - once I've fully learned the fight - I realize the wipes in those first few DF fails attempts weren't even my fault.
