    The Squirrel Trapper's Wife

I've gotten Cassie twice as part of my daily hunt pages and this FATE has proven to be difficult to solo. The first time I attempted as SCH then skipped it when I couldn't solo. The second time, today, I had to request help after getting killed as SMN. Is there something I'm missing? One thing is the Morbol mobs surrounding Cassie respawn quicker than I can kill her, and dodging multiple Bad Breath attacks is what gets me, I think.

So, is this solo-able or am I going to have to bring help if I get this again?

Good question. Part of the problem is due to the way the area is shaped, and you shouldn't forget the -Sylph- mobs that are also loitering on the boundary: they're normally little more than nuisances, but coupled with the morbols' debuffs they can contribute to a quick demise.

Way I see it, you might have to clean/carve yourself a path first, then force Cassie within an area where she isn't likely to be assisted by smaller Morbols. Easier said than done, of course; but if you are using SMN, you could use Titan to draw her away from the rest of the pack and in a zone you're comfortable with - just be prepared to use pet-recovery/enhancement commands when necessary. If you have a sufficiently tough chocobo, you can elect to either have the bird perform support healing or deal additional damage as an attacker.

Of course, having a party helps because you can cover each other's back in a much better way, but I'd give that a shot. Make sure those DOTs count and work to your advantage.

Some fates are best handled when the boss is dragged to an area where there will be the minimum impact of adds interfering. For this one, I take Cassie to the southwest edge of the fate circle, where the path starts to exit the "room" but still within the boundaries of the fate. After you have tagged and moved the boss, you may still have a couple sylphs on you (hopefully no morbols, those should reset from that range).

Dodge the bad breaths while moving the boss as little as possible. To deal with any adds you may have, remove your level sync. The boss will stay on you, and you'll be able to use the full power of your gear to destroy the adds before syncing again and turning your attention back to the boss.

I like to use my healing chocobo to help out, but you can't rely on it. Unless you manage perfect positioning, the chocobo will frequently stand in bad breath and either be diminished in usefulness or die. You may have to resummon it if it dies. I usually play WHM so I can reliably get healing from something not standing in the bad breath, but other jobs should work if you are comfortable with them.

I tried to complete that fate solo on both my PLD & NIN and died due to all the other mobs in the area. Then I used my BLM and was able to complete it because sleep & physic were my friends, lol

Clear a path, pull to the south, dodge bad breath. You can easily pull her far enough south that adds aren't an issue.
