The Howling eye; Level 44 quest

    Hi everyone :/

I'm coming here in need of some serious help and advice for Garuda trail because it's insane. I just got access to it today. I went through it 6 times today with no success at all. Before I did get to do this quest I had researched the fight online via a guide. Only thing I forgot to do was watch a PoV video. Its becoming a pain and I'm stuck. I'm a White Mage and it's hard to keep up with my healing because I have to constantly switch my rotations from the tank to a dps that didn't get out of the way fast enough and got wiped. I even got kicked out because one group got mad and was starting to say some...things. I know that this is the point in the game where it gets hard in order to reach endgame, I already expected this to be coming. Only I didn't expect it to hit me like a firebrick. If anyone can give me some help on a better way to get through this without accidentally wiping the whole group due to lag and rubberbanding issues is really appreciate it. Thank you!

I'd suggest levelling up to level 45 and getting the WHM job set from said WHM quest. It's got far better defensive and offensive attributes than anything you'll have now, and should make the fight far easier on you.

Well, the fight really breaks down to few things; using the pillars to avoid Mistral Shriek/Aerial Blast, killing the plumes asap to avoid any pillars from dying and correct positioning.

What you want to do at the start of the battle, is to position your team so that Garuda cannot accidently attack any of the pillars and so that Garudas frontal attacks don't cleave to non-tanks. Assign your tank to tank him on the spot whwre he initially spawns, have your heals/ranged on one side or the very middle of the room and the melees behind Garuda. Ideally you should be mostly just healing the tank. When he jumps, he will cast Mistral Shriek and Aerial Blast later on, so youl'll need to hide behind pillars to avoid insta gib. Reposition afterwards. Your dps should focus on killing the plumes when they spawn. Killing them is imperative to avoiding wipes on Aeriel Blast.

At some point, the edges will fill with winds, but the fight remains the same. Tank will tank Garuda on one side, facing him away from the party. Everyone else can now stay loosely spread to avoid the aoe as there are no pillars. Kill the plumes when they appear, and just tank and spank Garuda until she\\'s down. In the end though if your dps can\\'t avoid shrieks or get cleaved, remember it\\'s not your fault, it\\'s theirs for being dumbasses.

Anyways, good luck and hope you\\'ll get it done. If you\\'re on Lich, feel free to ask me for help in-game.

Yep, doing this duty as a 44 healer, is really hardcore and put your skills to the limits. Doing then at 45 with first pieces of artifact armor, changes totally the game.

Tons of Kudos to every healer that done this at 44
