Yep since the addition of rogue/ninja, the queue times for dps are absolute hell. Not really much you can do about the solo queue times though.

I'm sure come tuesday for the next part of the relic quest they'll throw players once again at the low level dungeons hoping that'll "fix" the problem.
Plenty of people got ninja to lv50 in less than a week. You just do leves, fates, hunting log, challenge log, eat food. If you can find somebody to do dungeons with, it's nice, but not necessary.
One thing I've noticed is that the Guild leves seem to give even more exp than regular leves, or atleast the ones in Mor Dhona defintely did.
It's actually very easy to level DPS classes solo. You can get from lv 1 to 50 in less than 30 hours by doing leves and FATEs (I haven't been on a single party doing FATEs since I started). I play every now and then and at least of 3-4 hours a day you can get the class fast.
This is what I do:
1-10: I walk killing what I can walking towards to the Teleport Crystal on Central Shroud and I set the Home point there. When i get there I'm about lv 4 with Food and the FC exp buff on. I just do 1 or 2 lv 1 leves to get to lv 5 and I always set them to high so I can be level 5 and fight vs lv 8-10 monsters.
I do leves
→ 10-20: Western La Noscea - Aleport or I go to The South Shroud Teleport Crystal
I mix it up with leves and FATEs whenever they are on. When I'm lv 10 to 14, I do leves lv 10 on max, when i get to lv 15, I do leves for lv 15 to max.
It should take you an hour an a half max to get from lv 1 to lv 15.
→ 20-28: South Shroud - Quarrymill
I do leves around the Teleport crystal and i also set the home point there. When I see some FATEs up, i run there.
→ 28-34: Eastern La Noscea - Costa del Sol
I mix some leves up until I get to lv 30 and then I only do FATEs until lv 34.
→ 34-40: Coerthas Central Highlands - Camp Dragonhead
No leves here, just go full FATE here.

→ 40-50: Northern Thanalan - Ceruleum Processing Plant
Some people say to go here but when I get to lv 48 in Coerthas, I just stop the FATE farming and I focus in getting the full Class Hunting log from lv 1 to 50 which gives me 1 full level at Lv 48 and at lv 49 I do the class and job quests. If i need the last exp, i just go to coerthas to finish the leveling.
I recommend to you that you get at least Cure and Protect on and also you chocobo on the lower FATEs and leves and i don't really equip the Job's gem at lv 30, I just go full Lancer, Puguilist etc until I get to lv 49 to get the job quests done, I hope this helps and good luck.
Melee DPS get faster queues than ranged DPS still though. I noticed on my low level DRG that I get 20 average wait time where ranged DPS get more than 30 minutes.
I started to level Rogue on Friday and from lv 1 to 8 i did it in 30 minutes because i had to leave but on Saturday I went from lv 8 to lv 21 and it took me 2.5 hours by doing FATEs and leves solo. I haven't joined a single FATE party so I don't know what's the difference of exp with a Full party vs solo so if you get more exp by all mean try it on a full party but you don't really need it.
Fates are still amazing XP, and unless you''re in Coerthas (which then join a party), you don't need a party to run them...assuming you are at least somewhat-competent in the class you chose (you are, right? If not...well, there's your problem).
Doing low-level roulette and guildhest daily gives a level or more as well. Add in Leves when you have time (or no fates are spawning whatsoever)
