    Mounts/Airships/Teleporting

They say that they are going to put flying mounts into the game. Can I ask why? What is the point when the map is closed in with exits? And not open like that have flying mounts. Airships and teleporting goes hand and hand. What is the point of having airships like lvl 15-17 story quests when you just teleport. Sure might be tiny pricey starting out, but around lvl 30, no longer useful. You make enough money you can just teleport. To respective place. They should either make the teleport class restriction like in FF11 or you can only teleport in the same area of the major city.
Yes I might be old fashion or or taking it way to serious like some may say... but With teleport and closed in maps, there is no real reason to have airships or flying mounts.

Flying won't be available in the current zones, only what's added in Heavensward (and I'd imagine later on). And the new areas are, admittedly, going to have places that you'll need to go up to reach - at least for initial discovery; aetherytes probably won't disappear, that's a different thing.

Ok, flying mounts I see just for new areas, but Reason FF is FF is due to airships and (I don't know what you call this kinda civiliation with old and new tecnology.) Guess steam punkish like with out the steam. Having Teleports that well lets you teleport cheap anywhere once discovered is bad. I even found a loop hole for any new player that joins a FC. They don't need to wait for Airship quest to go anywhere. Say your in Limsa and join a FC. Your lvl 10. The FC is in Lavender beds. Just tp to the house then exit the ward. Airships in this game is a pointless feature due to easy teleportation.

The flying mounts will be released alongside new zones, which will no doubt be designed with flying mounts in mind. Even if there are zone lines that doesn't mean what's inside each zone won't be fun to explore while flying.

Just because some things aren't as useful at higher levels doesn't mean they should be removed from the game. We "outgrow" many things like quest hubs, chocobo porters, guildhests, and hundreds of pieces of gear...but the new players will still want these things and there are some veterans who enjoy airships (I have one in my FC, she uses airships to travel from city to city almost exclusively instead of teleporting) and features like them.

Fun yes, it would be no fun if they did not have flying mobs you had to doge. Maybe I am complicating things more. But the thrill of going in high end zone is well not dieing as you go through. If you can just fly over everything like in wow. The only thing I would love about the mounts is the views you can get of the settings around it.

One thing about airships in this game and one in FF11 is in FF11 You got to ride them and not have cut scenes then loading screen then back to cutscene.I guess times changes and I just got to move on.

I agree that danger in the open world is a lot of fun, but flying mounts can't take away what we don't already have. At level 50 there's no normally spawning monster in the game that can kill a player character, even if they gang up on us in huge groups. So it won't be as if flying mounts can make traveling through a zone any easier than it is already.

Totally agree, i still use airships. I try to use teleports as little as possible. I liked 1.0 waiting for airships and ferries, and i understand others may not like the wait. I like the immersion and Eorzea's vast and beautiful landscape, so i prefer to take the longer route. To each their own.

I cant wait for flying mounts!!!
There will be areas that a flying mount is needed to access certain areas/content

Personally I like the fact there are numerous ways to get about quickly, I use teles and the airships in this game. I didn't enjoy the 30 min run from Sandy to Jeuno ...even the 15 min chcocobo ride was enough for me and the 10-15 min wait for the ships...."crickets" (but that's just me).

In the good old days I didn't think much of it but after this many years of gaming I welcome fast transportation, its probably just my gaming age...
