Triple Triad game (a newbie to it)

I've been taking a look at the upcoming update featuring the Gold Saucer recently and one of these is the Triple Triad game, how is it played? I've never seen the previous incarnation of that feature whatsoever
I just hope there's a guide or somesort to playing it or any other game feature in there.

There should be tutorials in game.

I can write up a thing though if you'd like? The basic ruleset is that you both have five cards. You both take turns playing a card on a 3x3 grid. All the cards have a value on each side (for instance, a card might have a top value of 3, a bottom value of 5, a right value of 8, and a left value of 1. Or something). When you play a card next to another, if its value facing that card is higher than the one it's next to, you 'capture' that card (it turns your color). At the end of the game (when all 9 cards are played), whoever has the most in their color wins.

There's advanced rules that implement fancy tricks (allowing you to capture cards with higher values), but that's the base game.

If that's confusing I can give a better example.

Each player select 5 cards, each card has a number on the top, left, right and bottom, you place a card each turn, the board is 3x3, if you place a card next to another a battle occur, the one with the best value on the corresponding side wins ( exemple: I put a card with a 9 on the right on the left of a card with a 5 on the left, I win the battle and the opponent's card turn to my color ) at the end of the game ( after the 9 cards have been put on the board ) the game is over, the one with the most cards of his color ( so at least 5 cards ) wins the game.

There are differents rules too, I think some have elements rules, bordless rules ( the left border is connected to the right border, same with top and bottom ), that kind of things. It's a really simple game ( I prefer the FFIX card game it has more depths imo )

The main thing I didn't like about FFIX's card game (Tetra Master) was that there was RNG involved with playing the game.
In Triple Triad the only RNG possibility would be for the "random" rule to be in effect (that rule picks 5 random cards for both players instead of the players picking them)

Also in Triple Triad, rules such as Same, Plus, Samewall, and Pluswall, can make games interesting and more strategic. Example for Plus: You have a card with a 4 on the right facing a card with a 5 on the left and that same card of yours has a 3 on the top, and theirs has a 6 on the bottom. The sum of the 2 cards on both of the sides is a nine. The Plus rule that is in effect applies here. In this case, both of the opponents cards will flip (become your color). In essence, with rules such as these, a weak card can overtake a strong card when used properly.

I honestly hated Tetra Master. The RNG for card battles was ridiculous so I always just used a super weak card with arrows on all sides, placed it in a spot where I could flip several cards, and after the AI flipped it I'd flip it back and win.

It also didin't help that the game hid the rules from the player.
