    Support Desk notifications?

    I'm sorry if I'm not posting in the right part of the forums, but I don't see where else I could go with this.

    I always blacklist and then report whenever I get a tell from a RMT, via System -> Support Desk -> Frequently Asked Questions -> Reporting RMT advertisements. The problem is with the answers, or more specifically the notification: it flashes up, I go to System -> Support Desk -> and then either via Recent Replies & Notices, if things show up there, often it just says "There is no information to display.", or to History - where I open the reply and then close the issue, to have the new message notification dismissed.

    Lately, however, this does not seem to work at all, as the blinking "!Support" notification just won't disappear. I tried opening and closing the latest reply, even my own message that I'd sent beforehand, I went back in the list and opened and closed some older messages as well, but the notification still remains there blinking (and sometimes I even receive an on-screen popup about a "new" message, sometimes even while in a dungeon). Even if I exit the game and then start it up and log back in again - for a few seconds it seems like everything's ok, but then the new message notification shows up again, even though I've received no actual new message from Support - or anyone else, as a matter of fact.

    I don't know what's causing this, I'm only guessing that it's some sort of server-client sync issue, but it would be nice if this could be solved asap, because it's very annoying.

    Also wondering if anyone else is having this particular issue?

    I had this happen a couple of weeks ago. In the end, what solved it was opening each of the GM messages again after I'd just logged back into the game and the computer had been off for an hour. Maybe try turning off your computer for a full minute (allowing it to clear out the cache, so don't turn it straight back on) and then try going through all your messages again, starting from the most recent.     Let someone write you a moggle mail and open it. Funnily enough, that makes it go away. Until you write the next report, then it's all blinking again.

    I can try that to see if it works, thank you. Not a proper solution for the underlying problem though, but a band-aid is better than nothing, right?

    And just for the record, I don't have my computer turned on when I'm not actually using it. Even though that really doesn't have anything to do with this issue.

    All I know is that I usually have the computer on 24/7 (only shutting it down when I have to) and that restarting the game alone and rereading the messages didn't work for me, but it did work after the computer had been off. I was trying to help. I'm sorry if that effort offended anyone. Sheesh.

    And it wasn't a moogle mail that fixed mine.
