    Monos, you're STILL missing the point. This game, as any MMO does or should if it doesn't, adheres to a simple edict, "You are not the only hero." This was a term coined in the advertising of another MMO way back in yester-year but still holds true to this day. So you don't like that the game's accessibility is routinely retooled for greater, broader access. Sadly, it's something that has to happen if the growing player base is to catch up with the current player population. It's vital if you want to keep things fair and even for everyone, their subscriptions being every bit as important as yours. If you can't appreciate that then perhaps you should go back to playing your Souls games, or try out Bloodborne when it comes out next week (if you have a PS4).

    I am afraid it is not as simple as "hard" and "easy". The trouble with making this a cut and dry issue is the variables. Circumstances people have to face as opposed to their allotted game time dictate what they are able to complete. Whether or not you believe this game to be "easy" already is irrelevant simply because not everyone views difficulty in a game the same way. Now if everything was as black and white as that compared to things like Everquest or Lord of the Rings Online then yes, ARR is easier by comparison. But XIV isn't meant to be the kind of game whose difficulty equates to those aforementioned and likewise. It is a game designed to try and keep everyone entertained as much as possible but it is also not possible to please everyone. It has been stated many times over that this is a fan service game, and it is. Now I suppose Heavensward will offer more challenges once we have it.

    Difficulty is nice and all but if it comes at the cost of enjoyment then it is nothing more than a nuisance.

    After read this thread, it make me laugh. This remind me of WoW, when some player go whining about the difficulty, all is same.

    Well... when new content are available of course old content will be bit easier to give the new player to catch up and some old hardcore player already clear that I presume.

    Why worry? The real challenge is to be the first to clear the hardest content with most basic gear once available.

    And by the way, most player here are working because this is a pay to play game, so they have other thing to do in their life and if they got weekend its not like they will spend it entirely to game only, they must have other plans like picnic, barbeque or watching movies. And most player here are used to be a hardcore player at their golden age, so there is no issue if the content is hard because they got experience.

    I've never played WoW, but I've beta tested most MMORPG's before WoW and continued to Beta test MMORPG's once everyone decided that was the one to play, and the argument never changed. Most games try to copy what "worked" before, and nerf what wasn't "fun" in previous games. We are well past that point now.

    When a developer decides to nerf older content so newer players can catch up, they do this at their own peril. In games where players just keep making new characters because they are race/class-locked, this also offers a chance to older players to roll new characters to catch up, and thus keep them paying. However for players who already sunk that time, it's a huge slap in the face. So developers need to be careful how they nerf content so that it allows players to catch up without making it seem like the existing players did it only to waste their time.

    eg, the relic weapons. These are just huge time-sinks. However they are still better than the equivalent blue weapon at that ilevel. SE could nerf all the steps required to catch up by changing certain RNG aspects. For example, the Atma's from FATE's and Alexandrite steps could be changed so they could be bought directly with the next kind of Tomes.

    But no, seriously. If it takes someone too long to learn something they're only a hindrance to everyone else. This isn't about so and so puts this amount of time into so and so, as there's plenty of puggers who get stuff done on their own time. It's a matter of learning the things and getting them done.
