Okay guys, I decided to take the argument of Casual vs Hardcore and make a reenactment of what I believe each game would become to its (il)logical conclusion. REMEMBER I'M NOT SERIOUS I'M JUST TRYING HORRIBLY TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH!

Making the Game Harder: SE eventually determined that the hardcore players were correct in their statements, and made A Realm Reborn: Prepare to Freddie, a complete revamp to the A Realm Reborn system and the gaming as a whole. After months of research and labor into what players thought was a challenge, all character levels were reset, and players were tasked with getting through the game once more. In ARR: PtDE, players leveled up in much the same way, but there was no enemy that did not aggro. If your character dies at any point, it will be permanently deleted from the system using FBI-level data scrubbing technology. There are also monsters that will surprise you with a jump scare if you are not keeping a careful eye on their positions, and you will instantly die. Chocobos from the porter were also susceptible to aggro. If you are struck while mounted, you will instantly dismount, and stare at the mount's corpse as it is scrubbed from your file. If you were using a chocobo porter's mount, you must pay 100,000 gil to pay for them to train a new bird, which will take several days, as well as having your mount privileges revoked until they are finished raising the new chocobo. As players finally reached the endgame, strategies were scarce as wipes deleted all players of your party or alliance. Auto-attack was removed from the game once more.

Making the Game Easier: SE eventually determined, based on feedback, that the game was too hard for the casual players. It was decided to once again rebuild the game from the ground up, and with careful research dedicated to what a casual player truly desires, released A Realm Call of Scrolls: Farmville Crush. The game was now Free-to-Play. Players were delighted to once again have many character customizations added back in, including the ever-popular butt slider, along with many new features, including a full pallete of 64-bit colors for every feature. Upon entering the game, you are placed in a permanent first-person view, and your weapon is shown on screen as if you're holding it. The moment that you attack the non-aggroing monsters of the game, you are brought to a screen where you are presented with a puzzle grid, which you must successfully win within a set amount of turns. You must match three symbols together. If you are unable to clear it within the set amount of time, you will be given the option to return to your home point, or purchase one additional attack for $0.99, five additional attacks for $3.99, 50 additional attacks for $149.50. Additionally, special events will come, allowing you to purchase an item to permanently double the total amount of attacks for $299.99. You must tend to your chocobo every twelve hours, else it will become sick and unable to aid you. More special events will come that will allow you to purchase a permanent chocobo health kit that keeps your chocobo in perfect health for $99.99. There are no experience points, so you can access every dungeon and raid as soon as you are able to access them. You can purchase access early for $0.99-$29.99. To win against these fierce foes, you must gather a team of adventurers to journey into the dungeon, with 4-man dungeons requiring 3/4 players, 5/8 players, or 18/24 players to successfully complete their puzzle. Upon winning, everyone receives a piece of armor suited to their class from a list presented. Stats will determine how much damage each type of puzzle tile is worth.

This is really ridiculous analogy and very far from the truth..
Most of general audience movies are made to fit around 90mins so it can reach younger audience.. Compared to serious themed movies which could reach 120-180mins timespan..
And tv series which isnt based on demand while prolonging plot without proper ending will be canceled because the demand is low..

Inb4-> something is made based on the demand of its consumer..

Why are you bringing this up right now, when SE have already revealed that Alexander will have a normal and hard mode?

The Alexander normal mode, will be like Coil with Echo, which makes it more beatable for the more casual (medium-core) players, while the hard mode is going to be even harder than the current Coil...

In other words, you will get your harder content, while not pissing off more casual players.

Also, I've seen a ton of really good players who haven't beat T13 yet... In fact, very few have beat it. So how is it too easy exactly?

The game isn't made for hardcore players... They want to keep them, hence why they have planned the 2 difficulty raid in 3.0, but they will always prioritize the casual - medium-core players.

Are you having a laugh? Most video games are short and easy as hell... It's probably the most casual thing around right now...

This is true. I've been doing game development for simple browser games right now and, even with something as simple as this, any time anything in the last game I made required the player to use a little common sense and 'think' about something it turned into a forum whine-a-thon and I was forced to rework the concept to make it simpler. It's actually a very serious issue in game development right now where players need everything handed to them because they seem to be eager in maxing out a game ASAP so they can move on to the next game instead of wanting a game they can work to achieve the goal. This does NOT apply to every gamer out there and we still had gamers who told these people to stfu but the issue is that most of the big bucks come from the instant gratification casuals who don't believe in effort. Why else would most video games be short and easy as hell?

Trying to deliver a high quality product while still meeting the demands of these people is hugely challenging. SE is trying to meet and satisfy both kinds of gamers and I feel they are doing a really good job as I am satisfied with the current system. There's one thing I give SE credit for is that they didn't go down the path of just trying to appease one group and managed to successfully make a game that appeases both groups... sorta. It still has the issue of lazy gamers who don't want to put forth effort into learning anything joining and ruining our party finder groups with their terribleness but it's something you can solve by making a linkshell or joining a linkshell and meeting people who are good at playing.

If you do coil with echo you're a medium core player? Is that what people who only get to do coil when echo is implemented tell themselves these days?

Typically, in MMOs, there is a higher percentage of players that identify as "casual" than "hardcore". This is why games of this nature tend to lean more towards the "casual" side. If something like 70% of a business' income is from a certain market, they are certainly going to listen to them more than people from the 30% market.

SE please make the story easier to experience
Friend to the dawn, hear my plea. Tidings most ominous arrive from Gridania─a primal walketh the Shroud. Those who have borne the eldritch spirit witness─and returned to tell the tale─avow that ne'er before have they seen its like. The Gods' Quiver doth investigate as we speak, and meseems Bowlord Lewin would welcome a capable adventurer's helping hand. Pray hie thee to the Seat of the First Bow and shine thy light upon the matter.
normal people can't understand this nonsense, we're not all hardcore English majors, we shouldn't have to look up guides on Merriam-Webster made by elitist English majors on how to understand the game. Please use http://simple.wiktionary.org/wiki/Main_Page in the future thanks.

The fact this is even a complaint disappoints me and I already lacked faith in humanity. I'm not an English major either but I still understand it...

It literally translates to: "Yo dawg, a primal's all up in our hood. Never thought this homie would be all up in our shit like this but we sent out our boys to check it out and you're going with them. Bring the light 'n shit."
