    :P In order to have fun, I avoid really hard content like bahamot coils, extreme runs, time wasting grindfests like those really small relic-upgrades on 1 weapon. (only 1 misstake and the whole group is in danger or wiped. how's that fun?!)

    Never did ANY in my 1,5 years of playing FF14! - And still wont! Even my classes are ilv 97-114!

    If I want something frustrating hard, I play Ninja Gaiden 3 RE Trails or Lost Soul.
    (you can also play a FF14 dungeon naked or with crap gears to have it harder!)

    In my opinion, high difficult content dont belong into Pay-to-play MMO's because its extremly very hard to find a party that know what to do or can give advices, instead of just booting out the "new player" or being a Pro-Ragequitter. <.<

    I agree, and it is probably the biggest flaw in FFXIV to date, and one I sorely hope they address at some point. Until the level cap rise from 75 and beyond, there were tons of new gear being added which wasn't a direct upgrade over another but had benefits unique to that item. That means some gear was better for some content, while other gear was better for others.

    In FFXIV it feels like they actually went out of their way to keep equipment as boring as possible so that the next 'upgrade' would be obvious. And since it's currently the only real form of character progression in the game, locking it behind extreme content is just foolhardy.

    Bring back unique equipment. Make finding new gear fun again. That will do more good for FFXIV than any amount of hardcore content would ever do.

    This is a big part of why I need to take breaks every so often, honestly. There's a lot of cool stuff in this game that it seems like almost no one runs anymore because there's literally no reason to unless an animus book forces you or something. Pharos Sirius, Wanderer's Palace (original, not HM), and a bunch of other dungeons are beautiful and fun, but no one does them because they don't need to. They're obsolete and will probably be obsolete forever, and that's sad. The end result being that there's a VERY small amount of content that SE encourages everyone to spam at once until the next update comes out....and then spam THAT new very small amount of content while forgetting about the old stuff. I can't even bring myself to do ex roulette now, not even for alexandrite.

    Thats one of the reasons most other games are using elemental wheel...

    Yea FFXI now use ilv system also . Much old content got nerfed or no point to do since sparks system (which allow new players get ilv 109 gear real quick & skip old content)
    But what i liked in XI that some content nerfs really maked things better - like solo Limbus/Dynamis , higher levels allowed Nyzle Isle/Assault 3 manning , solo/duo Abyssea and other things . And still XI have hardcore content to offer like new HM battles , Delve . So i think content that get's "OLD" needs to be nerfed because no reason for ppl's to back there , but new player at least can more or less enjoy story/"win" (even it not same win as when it was "new content" but still...)

    It will help if we could do old Dungeons with just 3 or 2 Players, or even solo...
    If you do dungeons with less players it increases difficult, even BiS players will have some hard times soloing dungeons!
    LevelSync isnt bad, but there is no alternative to it and thats what makes it boring.

    Some of the best fun I had in wow was soloing old content that I overgeared for cosmetic pieces. Wish that synch did not apply if you actually walked in to a dungeon while not in a group.

    Thats not upto the players to decide its the developers, and considering people are still paying their sub in a decent amount it seems to be working, also people don't boot new players, they boot bad ones.
