Just a random point of view, but not everyone saying that is on the same server and/or doesn't play at the same time.Considering I am reading so many players who dont have a group at this moment in time, how is that you guys havent banded together to form a group?
There seems to be a huge amount of players in the same scenario, I wonder what the problem is, there is no catch 22, start to learn to become a raid leader, the biggest asset to any group isnt a tank or healer, its a dedicated raid leader with a plan.
I won't speak to my personal reasons as it oddly enough is a bit personal lol, but...
Some people simply cannot devote a scheduled time because their real world stuff takes precedence. Some people don't want to feel like a game is a choir as it is their outlet to escape their real world life, becoming a raid leader to some is like becoming a boss at a job, something they don't want to deal with. The problem isn't the commitment, the problem is the mind-set across all player types. We only want to run with our cliques and try so desperately to run out the rest. Its a shame really, because there is talented players on all spectrums but lots of people just don't want to open their eyes and see that.
It's just a game. It's not that serious.Evolution is an important thing in life, if you are not skilled in something you practice, and become better at it, and not asking others to dumb it down, the world (real or virtual) shall not drop down to the limited capabilities of some people, that would be wrong. We shall all work on becomeing better in every way through our life (real or virtual) instead of whineing on problems (real or virtual) we shall overcome the obstacles!
NOBODY plays an MMO for a challenge. They don't have challenges. They have time sinks. You want challenges? Go back 30 years in gaming when gaming meant something.
I am afraid it is not as simple as "hard" and "easy". The trouble with making this a cut and dry issue is the variables. Circumstances people have to face as opposed to their allotted game time dictate what they are able to complete. Whether or not you believe this game to be "easy" already is irrelevant simply because not everyone views difficulty in a game the same way. Now if everything was as black and white as that compared to things like Everquest or Lord of the Rings Online then yes, ARR is easier by comparison. But XIV isn't meant to be the kind of game whose difficulty equates to those aforementioned and likewise. It is a game designed to try and keep everyone entertained as much as possible but it is also not possible to please everyone. It has been stated many times over that this is a fan service game, and it is. Now I suppose Heavensward will offer more challenges once we have it.
Difficulty is nice and all but if it comes at the cost of enjoyment then it is nothing more than a nuisance.

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
Far more of a gamer than you. I have every single copy of every single Final Fantasy. Even the software copies on Steam and PSN so I don't wear away the discs and cartridges playing them. I have the physical copies of all the music I could get my hands on and a Black Mages album signed by Nobuo Uematsu. I'd tell you about my console collection but your first one was a PS2 so you'd not even KNOW half the names.
If you think this game is challenging, you've never really played a game. When you get yourself a job you should invest in the old school games.
