Flawless Synthesis actually has a use : those elementally Aspected repair recipes. When you are leveling up and don't have the stats to simply overpower them, using that skill can reduce the amount of Synthesis steps needed to finish, without worrying about whether or not the elementally Aspected Synthesis specific to the various crafting classes will help.

That is a good point.
Know they reduce progress gains by 50%, but they're all mid to high level that I recall. So, I don't know about not being able to still hit for more than 40.

Flawless Synthesis would have a use, possibly like you described.... if it didn't cost 15 CP. The CP cost more than anything totally kills it for me. Also, it has only a 90% success rate. Basically, it's the exact same cost and success rate as Standard Synthesis, but a) is a specialized class skill, and b) gives less progress in 99-100% of cases. I guess it's something semi-useful before you get Standard Synthesis and are doing elementally aspected crafts, but how many of them are there at such a low level?

Standard Synthesis cost 15 CP and has that same 90% success rate.

It also, for those levels, gives less Progress than Flawless Synthesis on those Aspected recipes. Flawless is basically a one-stop-Synthesis move for those aspected recipes so you don't have to cross class those other level 37 cross class skills. And its been a while (like, over a year) but I want to say that it beat those elemental Synthesis moves by a little Progress as well, though I have to admit I did not use those moves much, just Flawless.
