    My 90002/90001 story.

Ok, so after 12 months of getting these 90002 errors I decided it's time to make a thread.

Like I said, for about 12 months now, since the first day I was playing, I've been getting these 90002 errors. The frequency at which they come and go can only be described as random... They could happen while me being afk, me being in a raid, me just running, or me just chatting, there's absolutely no pattern or trigger that I see after 12+ months of getting these.
They're also random in the way that I could get <no> error for 3 days, to end up getting 5 errors in 15 minutes.

I've literally tried everything I could find on google, from all kinds of changes to settings in windows and ingame, to forwarding router ports, but nothing seems to work...

There are 2 major differences though that I have with the rest of the people getting these errors.

1: Whenever I get these errors, my chat stops working a few minutes beforehand. So I actually know I'm going to get a DC when "suddenly" all chat dies down.
One weird thing about this though, /s chat still works just fine but everything else, including FC chat, linkshell chat, party chat, alliance chat, PM's, etcetc. All this chat just stops working, except for /s chat. I can still see <my> chat popping up in the chatwindow, but people don't see this, and I don't see other people their chat anymore. Untill I get the 90002 and log back in, then everything magically works again.

2: Oddly enough, since patch 2.5 the "chatbug error" (this is what I call it now, as it is <always> paired with chat not working beforehand) changed to a 90001 error. And next to this 90001 chatbug error, I'm <still> getting other 90002 errors, with the difference that chat does <not> stop working before getting these 90002's. They are just as random though, but less frequent, as far as I can tell.

I've tried googling for other people who also have this weird chatbug followed by a 90002 (now 90001), but it seems like I am the one and only FFXIV player who's chat stops working before a 90002 (now 90001).

Does anyone have any clue on what might be going on here? I would pay serieus money and/or gil to get this resolved.

sounds a lot like stalling packets, typically as a result of high utilization at a node on the way to SE or back. Internet congestion can seem completely random at times, but usually there is a pattern to the behavior, but some ISP's don't track things well enough and we have to prod them into researching issues. Have you researched the quality of your route to your game server? Tends to be a very common source of stability problems for the game, typically focused around the exchange into an ISP's routing partner or within that partner's path to Ormuco (SE's ISP).

I'm sorry, I only know the basics when it comes to internet related stuff. How exactly do I research the quality of my route to my game server? ^^

I have similar problem. It's just so annoying! Since launch I've been getting this, the funny thing is that it happens ONLY on PC, not on my PS3. It's a bug, everyone experience this thing. I just lost a T9 farming party for this s*itty bug that SE can't fix it. The problem isn't 90k, it's that damn 3102 that won't go away! I've been stuck on that bug for 20 minutes!!! I remember playing Ragnarok Online and never getting that kind of problem. Got disconnected? Ok, try to connect again. Character still logged in? We'll kick him ASAP (that's on a almost 15 years old game, can you believe it??). FF no, that won't happen. When I'm just walking around on FFXIV and I get 90k + 3102 combo I just turn my PS3 on and the damn bug goes away. But when I'm on a farming party where time is essential I can't just wait for my very old PS3 to load things up. What is it? Are you favouring PS3/PS4? SE, can't you do something about a bug more than a year old?!?!?!?!?

As I stated in another thread, and although this may not work for anyone here, I found a suggestion regarding 90002 errors by SE that the problem sometimes lies with firewall allowances.

Lo and behold after I looked and found no reference to FFXIV at all in my AV firewall listing, I added it manually. After I renewed my yearly contract with this AV provider and updated to the newer version I recently started having 90002 issues again.

When I looked it wasn't there in the newer version so I added it manually again, so far this seems to have cleared the issue a second time, just a suggestion.

I've tried this, it was already allowed. Trying a reinstall right now and hopefully that'll fix my issues.

Ok I will try this. Added every possible FFXIV exe that I could find to both the windows firewall and the virusscanner exception list. I will post my findings in a few days.

Well I can say for sure that it definitely didn't work. :< Still getting random 90001's and 90002's. Was worth the try atleast.
