Things are only challenging when you are learning it. Once you get stuff on farm it is not one bit challenging, it is all about the time. But it things were handed out without the time requirements then people would complain that it is not special. So you earn it by being the most persistent thru stuff that you find boring, or you make it a challenge to turn the grind into something interesting for you.

Why is it even called the Zodiac Braves to begin with? The actual legends of the Zodiac Braves are not expanded upon, we know nothing about them, the lore of the weapons are hardly ever mentioned if not for one line of text. Are we actually following in their footsteps? Those "books" offered no insight into them whatsoever.

They really should stop insulting/tarnishing FF:Tactics

Call it for what it is: The Ultimate Craftsman's Quest to Make a Relic. Boring and Generic title for a boring and generic quest. To those defending the storyline please stop.

Pretty much this is what exasperates my problems with the questline. Once you finish the initial relic (a weapon that closely relates to your job, and has a good amount of lore behind it), the entirty of the lore gets backpeddled when you meet the scholar NPC (whom I now shall refer to as the douche-bag scholar) whose name I can't even be bothered to remember because he has so very little relevance to the actual weapons.

Gloats about Atmas giving your weapon new strength, when it still has the stats of an ilvl90. Only until you get animus books does the stats increase...which are supposed to follow the exploits and brave deeds of the zodiac braves themselves (and I doubt they went and slaughtered modern day garlean vangaurds...).

Then he goes on about turning our weapons to be the very same ones that the Zodiac braves use...but we don't even know who they are. The most we get is two sentences which may not even contain a stellar feat or is lacking context.

If there was one NPC I want to toss off the holocharts, it'd be douche-bag scholar. Ugh.

You can't do that, because Nael will be healed by the damage taken and make your T9 clear that much harder.

He's gonna be healing Nael with ilvl 130 equips that have the stats of ilvl50. He'll get one shot'd by a Jump.

It wouldn't prove anything either way. Are you just not reading things people are saying?

How about this. Instead of saying over and over again your opinion, we get it, why don't you actually suggest something that would improve on it. How would YOU do the quest without creating new levels or boss fights just for it because clearly they don't have the dev bandwidth for that and had to make due so you must have the same limitation. How would you propose to do any better. Put up.

I'd rather they save that story for a raid dungeon or something considerably bigger than a weapon upgrade path. The entire point is we are simply forging a weapon. If you seriously expected something earth shattering like you posted then your expectations for a weapon upgrade path are seriously off the charts. Could it have had more context to the Zodiac themselves, sure, but that doesn't mean it was going to be something awe inspiring. That's what you DO with good weapons. Not how they were made. The Zodiac braves DID things with good weapons, but some blacksmith and artisans had to create it first. This is THAT tale. What we do with them is our Zodiac Brave story but this is the story of how that weapon is crafted. (Warriors of Light are ALSO known Zodiac Braves after all so we are literally living a Zodiac Brave story right now.) I'm not saying they couldn't have done more, but I'm saying you expect way too much for something like this if that is the bar you are setting. I personally found the lore into weapons and their upgrade process very interesting from a lore perspective and for me that was enough.

I did that, too, when I pointed out that not rehashing old content would make it better, but if they're going to do that, allow us to progress a book on ANY class. If you have a book in your inventory, you should get credit no matter what.

This is a logical fallacy that I was just waiting to see crop up.

By this logic, no one has any right to say that they're not having fun until they've experienced everything in the game, ever, and then come to the conclusion.

But no, I assure you that I can decide that the story is shit when a miquote starts handing me checklist brochures with an extremely flimsy pretense for doing so.
