Returning player, still irked about a few things

Let me start that I do love ff14 and as a returning player I'm sure to be spending more time catching up to all the current stuff that has been added. That being said I am still kind of disappointed that some things have yet to be changed or fixed.

    1. You can't whisper someone who is in a dungeon or other instanced content. This is because when you're in a dungeon the game considers you to be on another server, thus you aren't allowed to whisper them. However, ironically, linkshells can get around this, but it's still extremely annoying if you want to talk to someone you can't unless it's a linkshell.

    2. You can not add a player to your friends list unless they are currently logged in. Pretty annoying if you have a friend you want to add you can't just shoot them an invitation. You have to coordinate being online at the same time to get them initially added.

    3. You can't queue for duty roullette (at leas low level ones) with a premade party. You can only do it at random. Sorry, but I would like to queue with friends if possible. I don't mind queueing into random people but I'd prefer to have the option to you know, play with friends or something.

    4. Server v. client lag. I realize there's been improvement since 2.0, more particularly in instances where it matters more than out in the world. However if there's a discrepancy between the client v. the server, the game will trust the server more than the client. This is why sometimes you may see someone obviously hit by an AoE but they don't, or if you dodged an AoE but still get hit, or someones health reached 0, but then they get healed and end up cheating death, or someone still dies when they got benediction. It'd be nicer if instead it gave the client side benefit of the doubt so weird stuff like that doesn't happen.

    5. Glamouring crafting gear. It sucks that I can't glamour my crafting gear. I get that there's some restrictions between disciple of war/magic so you don't hve a paladin wearing robes or something. However I've seen some pretty out there stuff like glamouring bathing suits. I get if there was a restriction on the weapon slots cause it wouldn't make sense. But there's a lot of crafting gear pieces that'd be really nice to glamour but they can't be which is no fun at all

    6. Glamouring gear, it's nice you not only can glamour gear that you currently have in your inventory but you can also glamour gear in your airmore (spelling?). However, correct me if i'm wrong but I don't believe you can glamour stuff straight from your retainer's inventory.

    7. You can't accept a duty queue popping if you have a ui window of any kind open. Whether it's your character, prfoessions, or other ui windows. You have to exit out of the window to accept the queue then reopen it to get back to what you were looking at. It's minor, but annoying nonetheless.

I'm sure there are a few other things that I'm not able to think of off the top of my head right now until I'm reminded in game. But those are some things that I wish they would change, at least at some point.

Edit: Forgot to mention. Not in game thing. but the forum character limit of 1000 per post is pretty dumb considering it can just be bypassed by editing the post.

for me, all valid except 3.

Purpose of roulette is to fill other people's party - and reward you for it - and make queues faster for everyone including unpopular dungeons that people need to do.
The fact they allowed grouping for high level/expert is already defeating the purpose of it. By grouping up you effectively locked certain roles out - the system now finds people to fill YOUR party instead of placing you in a party that needed your role. Or if you have a full party - you aren't contributing to shortening the queues of other players so I don't know why they even give bonus reward.

Use normal DF if you want to play with friends.

    Edit: them typos

This is the one that bugs me. We should be able to send a Friend request to anyone, and if they're not online at the time, they'd get it the next time they do log in. (If SE doesn't want a backlog of these piling up for inactive players, they could set a time limit on it, like the player has to log in within 48 hours or something in order to get the invite.)

The Roulette bonus is there to reward you for filling in other players' groups, so that nobody is left stuck there unable to advance because they can't get a party. Taking your own party in so you're not fulfilling that purpose, but then still expecting to get the same reward, would be kind of backwards.

If you want to run the dungeon with your friends, you can do that already. The only difference between that and Roulette is that you don't get the extra bonus reward, which makes perfect sense, since you're not doing what that bonus rewards you for.
