Six Year? A progression of events query

Well a a continuation of time has had to go by because some people died. It doesn't have to a full year but at least a few months

Correct! As weird as it sounds, though, it's both passing and not moving. More accurately, the closer we get to the edge of the "year' bubble, the farther the "year" bubble expands to prevent us from getting there. Events are accumulated, there's space between them. Lots of time passes. I just wouldn't try to measure it. In the end, the game will be "about a year long," even if it feels like a very, very long year.

I think the best analogy is Springfield Elementary. When The Simpsons ends, we will have more or less have been privy to Bart Simpsons journey through the 4th grade. We will have seen his fourth grade "year," despite having seen him complete at least 500 of its 180 days. Everything still happened, and there was a lot of time between Ms. Krabappel's first appearance and her death - just don't try too hard to measure it or make a timeline.

Also, I just remembered that Fernehalwes mentioned the bubble at Fan Festival Vegas, so the most recent reference is actually a few months ago.
