SUGGESTION: Kicked players banned from that particular instance ID to avoid griefing

POST 1

Over a year and this remains unchanged, here's my experience today:

We're in a group for Dzemael Darkhold and things are progressing smoothly, no wipes.
The tank begins talking crap and threatens to kick one of us.
In response to this threat we kick the tank, as he's causing trouble and making the group uncomfortable.
The tank immediately requeues for Dzemael Darkhold Group In Progress and gets back into our group, talking trash and refusing to tank.
The next player issues a vote kick and we kick him a 2nd time.
He rejoins the group and continues with more of the same.
Our final party member kicks this player and, you guessed it, he rejoins again.
He refuses to tank, continues to talk crap, and as a result we are forced to abandon our dungeon due to one player's continued harassment.

This player was kicked from our group three times, THREE TIMES. Every single member in our group initiated a kick because they did not want him there, and all of us agreed to remove him. He was ALLOWED to return to the group each time, resulting in all of us being penalized for his trolling and harassment. One of the three people who kicked him we'd never met before, I'm pretty sure she wasn't even on our server. The other was a friend of mine that I brought to this game recently and she's trying to level. She doesn't even have a level 50 yet. How many other new players have experienced this and just stopped playing?

This isn't the first time I've had this happen. Has it happened often? No, of course not. But my argument is that there should be no way for this to happen, period. A player should be locked out of the instance once kicked, making them unable to return to that specific instance ID.

Consider this: If you are kicked from a group, for right or wrong, would you want to rejoin that group? The only reason to rejoin them would be to troll and cause trouble. Even if you were kicked for no good reason it would still be better to join a different group rather than accidentally landing in the previous group and being harassed or kicked again by the same players.

Please Square, when a player is kicked from a duty ban that player from that instance ID until the instance is complete. Please do NOT let that player back into the same instance that they were kicked from. I've seen this in raid groups before too. Had a tank in one of the Crystal Tower raids that kept rejoining after being kicked. It causes tons of trouble and tons of drama and NOBODY walks away happy... except the troll.

I would greatly appreciate the community's support on getting this idea promoted and passed. Even if this has never happened to you, eventually someday it may if you play long enough. Lets fix this issue now before even more players become aware of this really simple method of harassment and begin abusing it even more.

All-too common scenario: I just spent the better part of an hour in ST just to be kicked before the final boss.

Of COURSE I would re queue in progress-- to get the clear credit I earned.

Just because people can abuse vote dismiss doesn't mean you should further punish the victim with your... alleged solution.

It's not broken. Don't try to fix it.

And why are you making three posts? Just make 1 small post then edit it. The character restriction doesn't exist on edited posts.

I made four posts, and as I stated its due to the 1,000 character limit. I don't think any reasonable person would have thought that the character limit applies only to a freshly created post but could be gotten around by editing that same post. Thank you for pointing this out.

And again, if you were kicked from that group you were either kicked for a good reason, in which you did not deserve to be back in that group. Or you were kicked for no good reason, in which case its really not a good idea to return to that same group. I imagine if you got back in there you probably stirred up even more trouble than already existed, which is not good for you, them, and the rest of the raid.

As far as 'punishing the victim' goes. Putting a victim back in the same group as those who victimized that person would likely be considered as 'punishing the victim'. Keeping them away from those people would be the opposite.

In some cases this would be good, in some cases... really stupid idea.

Some people still abuse the kick button for no good reason, especially when the team is half pre-made before entering the duty.
Some people just click yes because they want two people to shut up, not caring who was booted.

An experience where I've been booted for no reason was when I told a Labyrinth of the Ancients group that we didn't need all the DPS to down it anyway, because some people were still dying and struggling to keep up, getting locked out before the first boss even happened. Now, they booted me as their tank, I assume by the BLM's request who was one of the players to die from not dodging AoEs, but I rejoined to continue the fight. They didn't try booting again after they were shown how horrible the other tanks managed the first boss while I was locked out...

Sure, there are some good situations for this, but honestly... The boot system itself in general isn't great for all scenarios.

Another griefing story coming up!

Today, me and a few friends were going to run WoD all night. I'm a healer, and we had the tank and two DPSes with us.

The other healer was a White Mage. This other healer is too busy chatting to actually heal, and is throwing an awful lot of heals onto other alliances for some reason. It's okay though, I've carried raids with subpar healers before. This is until we hit Five-Headed Dragon. With her not healing a whole lot, I'm having trouble keeping up with all the damage on my own.
