No one said that will always work. The exception most of the replies in this thread took was due to the OP making sweeping generalizations about the community as a whole because they chose to enter content with a group of strangers and then were put out when said strangers didn't abide by the OP's loot rules. As for determining who needs an item, how exactly do you make the claim that your friend "needs" those drops anymore than the person that wants to use them for glamor, desynthesis, or GC seals does?

People must be rich enough stealing all the gear off newer players for their precious seals and desynth.
By that same way of thinking, what's stopping you from making your friend the higher level version of the weapon to use? Or even one of the newer wootz weapons?

You are exaggerating what I'm talking about but nice try. I don't remember me saying that for everything or me saying I say that for everything or it applies to everything. All I said as if someone asks that they need something, randomly changing that whole thing to "people going to ask for everything" nonsense isn't attacking my point in anyway, it just continues to point out how ridiculous this whole thing is with simply saying you need it as well IF someone asks if they can have something.

There is no entitlement in it whatsoever, so try again.
And P.S. this is not my first MMO and I barely even played in MMOs that had the greed system to begin with and barely cared.

Oh well hey, it's funny because the people who responded to me is doing the exact same nonsense. I'll I asked is simply saying SOMETHING, you is literally defending the right to be a troll yet not wanting to be called one. There is no justification or just cause for simply not saying ANYTHING, that's being lazy. And your defense is pretentious.

And hiding behind MMO logic doesn't stop you from being a troll. It's your right to do what you do, it's my right to call you a troll, we both payed money for this game monthly and THAT is my right.

So...I explain how realistically what you are asking for is never gonna happen and you say I just like seeing myself. Despite the fact that line makes no sense since you do not know anything about me, I will try to clarify to you what I meant.

Your main argument has been that people don't respond when you ask politely that you really would like something. I clearly pointed out that these people are random players who have no connection to you therefore may choose to ignore you, sorry but you do not matter to them. You can think it rude, you can think it lazy, but really don't waste your energy getting mad about it.

98% of the time the person who "didn't respond and rolled anyway" did not do it as some kinda troll attack against you. They just wanted the item or needed it, and they have the right to lot on it. Some people just play this game with close friends and do not chat with others, or maybe they just don't feel like typing that day. You might find this "ridiculous" but that is your opinion, they can and will ignore you if they want to.

So it really is pointless to get angry at them or about this. Thinking the player is a troll just because they chose not to acknowledge a person they do not know and roll on a piece of gear that they have every right to roll on is just...well in your words ridiculous. Keep thinking everyone are trolls if you want to, but you are only ruining your own gaming experience by getting mad about this and those 2% who are trolls will just laugh that they are making you paranoid and ruining your enjoyment.

Also you completely misinterpreted my post, it wasn't about "people asking for everything" it was about how it makes no sense to assume that strangers would announce what they are taking to other strangers. Also....no where in my post did I say anything about you being entitled, not sure where you are getting this from. The MMO thing was a legitimate question, I was seriously wondering if you are new to online games, I guess I was wrong, but I was curious.

I actually try my best to help others in this game, if people ask nicely I pass if I do not need the item, but if I do need the item; well I have a right to try for it. So you are basically attacking someone who likely would have passed your item for you, but if I did need it and rolled without chatting to you that I was going to roll, I am a troll I guess? Do you see the problem here?

As a fellow gamer I am telling you what you want won't happen, unless the game enforces some new rule that you must respond to someone chatting to you, so there is no point in getting mad, just play the game and have fun in your own way if you lose a roll just go again, that's what everyone else does.

You are getting mad that complete strangers do not acknowledge you.
Yet when one does on a forum you accuse them of being a liking to see themselves type lol so I think I am done here if you still don't get it.

Time to put on my AF1 gear, GC i40+ weapon, and go in HM primals, and "kindly" ask for everyone to pass me loot

    There, I said it.

The community? Really isn't that great. Gaming communities? Never going to be great. I've been on MMOs 10 years.

    *blah blah*
I've been playing MMOs for a lot longer than you and you're wrong.

    QED I suppose!

Overall, the community is fine. I've played Eve Online for ten years. This community is heavenly compared to some of the sheer horror I've encountered on Eve.

Every time this topic comes up I honestly just read it as "I want my item on the first run." Even if a system was put in place where people could only roll for upgrades, you still have to hope RNG smiles on you and that it drops. If it doesn't drop at all, what do you do? You probably run it again. Am I right? Why can't people just do that in cases where someone else rolled on it and won? Why do people have to come and make complaint posts about it? Just run the instance until you get the item you need.

Bad community = not getting the loot you want

Honestly there are so many other things that are much worse than this, it's not hard to get gear these days. If you really want to help that friend of yours out grab 7 people in your FC to help them run those hard mode primals until they get that weapon they want. Once they get to ilvl70 just start spamming ST for gear, sands, oils, UAT's and tomes. Honestly if you want to be helpful just buy them some gear off the MB.

Saying that people shouldn't lot on stuff if they have better gear is simply stupid. Why? Because it takes next to no time to get something better.

I spammed Thornmarch HM for over a week trying to get the Mogaxe. When it finally droped on my 20th+ run the healer wanted me to pass it for his Warrior because I had a Bravura already.

Worse was in LotA, when I was insulted the whole run by the other tank for lotting on the tank gear. Apparently I should pass it to the other tank because it's an upgrade to him, even though it would only take him a couple of hours to get the Myth needed for something better.

And people are back to the focus on loot...

Thank you for those who actually input on the other information other than just seeing loot and going "*Blahblah* loot! *blahblah*"

People also seem to believe that just because I'm a level 50 crafter, I can whip up anything. I can't, I'm not a good crafter, it's mostly there for glamour crafting, furniture and melding, not to mention it's not exactly an enjoyable task. Second, not every server's market is the same. What you may consider cheap could be quite a bit more pricey elsewhere. Third, as I said she wanted it in preparation for her next relic quests which were hot on the tail of her first, she doesn't want to be grinding higher content where more people are looking to gear up to get a temporary fix while she earns her relics.

One thing is for sure I'm not about to check the gear level of players in my party to make a decision about whether or not I'm going to roll on a particular set of gear.

Furthermore I'm not sure what type of free companies people belong too but in ours our crafters are quick to help new players by making gear for them not only for War classes but for Crafting classes as well.

Sadly the name calling started early on by calling people douche's and selfish. There is or was no need to get into name calling to have a discussion of this sort.

    16 Bombard Cores for these.

only 350k! should go get some lucis also! 11/11 lucis is 880k seals! I take everything i can get my hands on for seals!
