Same as now more tedious weekly lock out grinding
Same as now more tedious weekly lock out grinding
What I expect. The exact same thing we have now with higher Ilevels.
What I hope for is a more indept system when you get to 60 with new stats/effects on gear and removal of the strict vertical progression system we have currently.
They never said if normal alexander would drop gear or not. It very well could be like the hard mode primal we have now that don't drop anything but are there for the story. That is what it seemed like they were doing to me anyway because people wanted coil story mode.
It really needs to head in a different direction. This marginal grind for a small increase in stats got tired out a long time ago.
I'm going to guess the Story mode of Alex may provide standard gear that is around the basic requirement for entry level of Endgame Mode Alex while Alex Endgame Mode provides the best ilvl gears for endgame.
For example, Alex Story mode may provide ilvl 150 gear set while Alex Endgame mode provides ilvl 155 gear set.
This is just my guess though.
The lockout system and forcing people to use statics is what needs to go. Highly limiting and discourages a sense of community as everyone is in their own groups. I know limitations gotta be in place so SE can rake in a few more months of subscriptions before the hardcore gamers storm through the content like a hurricane but how about a system that doesn't suck this badly? I'm not an MMO game designer so I really don't know a solution but there has to be a better designed system. Once fun is being ruined because a company wants to artificially slow down the hardcore gamers that is equally as destructive to a game's longevity I feel.
You really think removing lockouts would stop those in statics staying in statics? Think Statics would suddenly disapear? It's not just because of lockouts that statics exist, they exist because they exist. Like any community you will get groups of people which do things together. Going for a drink with your friends for example, you dont go for a drink or a meal with random strangers either.
Not to mention doing hard content in DF is, most of the time, like playing russian roulette with a fully loaded gun.
So you remove lock out, what do you end up with? Those in statics who can clear, clearing and farming and leaving. Then you get those not in statics still trying to DF it and complaining that its too hard and those who can clear it arent carrying em/training em/babysitting em either.
So only thing that will change is you gett a subset of the players "finishing" the game quickly, everything else stays the same.

Again, yes they did...

Also, I sure as hope the gear progression changes. I remember Yoshida saying the ilvl went up way too high, way to fast. As things stand now..there is no point to get top gear. What are you gonna do with it? The same fights over and over?
Maybe if there was...say...open world content that made having a FC useful, well yeah. Or if we had stuff we can do like force pop NM/Boss, Fraction Leves, etc. If they gonna leave it how it is, that there is only one end game thing to do like that (4 end game bosses every 6 months)...then that's when I'll call it quits. Literally 0 motivation or purpose to get the highest gear now.
This is all , of course my opinion.

Read your own link "[Blog Sourced - Possibly Fake Information]" The info on if normal mode drops anything hasn't been released at all. Info something someone posted on a 3rd party forum is hardly offical especially when it says possibly fake info.
Honsetly I can't see them having gear in a story mode until they say they are in some offical sense.
People thinking crafted gear should be the best in the game and that the normal mode raid won't drop gear? In other news, the sky is potatoes, up is purple and green is banana.
The "normal" raid will be like "normal" coil is now. It's not some story mode you'll just walk through for the story. You still need to try. If you're bad you still won't get to clear it.
