I say wait until the game is ready and all the systems are in place to release the game... Get the best reviews as possible and go from there... A strong PS3 release will breath new life into the player base and bring in new PC players as well as bring back players who left a while ago.
But yes, more info is always welcome.![]()

Well I think that the team should haste up a little the development of the game.
Stop implement unecessary things (bigger HP bars, new enemy icons, etc...) and start working on the big deal (battle system, Ishgard, dungeon raids, etc).
With all the main system and new areas done I think PS3 version will have green light.
They have some SERIOUS issues to fix before the PS3 is even remotely considerable, one being the optimization of the game engine as well as efficient management of game files.
Unless.....
the PC problems occur because the game was originally optimized for PS3 hardware and file system....
I'd rather have them take their time with it to make the game more accessible once ps3 release rolls around. I like the game but I can admit that it's missing A LOT lol but it has potential to be something groundbreaking in my opinion. On another note.... I went to a local game shop to see when Elder Scrolls Skyrim was dated to come out and noticed FFXIV for the ps3 still has a release date on November. Haven't heard any news yet of that date being pushed further back lol who knows maybe it might actually be ready to roll by then ~shrugs
I believe the last thing they said on the subject (pre-Yoshida) before officially shelving the PS3 release was 'we've got it running fine, but we're holding off a bit so we don't have to keep patching the PS3 version as we add stuff'.
That said, however, I'm afraid Rydin's 'unless..' is untrue. Pre-shelving developer commentary made it clear the game was developed for the PC first as they gave progress updates on adapting the game for the PS3. Although some things were influenced by the PS3; for instance, removing tails from the early Roegadyn models; something about the PS3's memory not being up to it.

Pretty sure they want the game to resemble it's end product before putting it on PS3. Honestly, they're basically in the middle of rebuilding the game ground up, why would they convert it to the PS3 version only to change the PC version and have to rebuild the ps3 version?
Hell, I'm down for them just taking down the servers, scrapping the gameplay elements etc, rebuilding, while giving us info for the next year
Agreed. Start off after however long with free 30 day trial to see whats up and hopefully itd be awesome after that. but wont happen.Pretty sure they want the game to resemble it's end product before putting it on PS3. It still isn't ready for PS3 release period. SE can't afford a lolfail PS3 release. no way its ready yet. Keep waiting, you might see PS3 by nov/dec if lucky. Least imo And they are working on battle system, job system, etc etc. this stuff takes times. And don't forget the earthquake/tsunami cost them some time too.
