They need to be patient and believe that the game will rebound with a Ps3 release. Most games that flunk when they first release never rebound, dev resources end up being pulled from the game and it doesn't get fixed quick enough. Most don't have a console launch though and SE is funding this in house. This game currently isn't even where PC release should be. Once they get the battle system and class changes implemented, then maybe we could consider it but I think they should wait until an expansion. The game needs to be loaded with content and things to do.

You have to remember that they are depending the PS3 players to revive this game to the glory it deserves and to do that they need to make sure they have a game full of content. Also when they release it they need to have content new content for the PC players. So either a raise in level cap or an expansion is generally the common idea.

True... although they better be quick or else I don't think players would buy for PS3 (as it will be considered an old game lol).
I'm playing for PC but I'm waiting for PS3 versions. Instead of implementing small things in updates they should start to focus in doing big things...
If they continue with this speed development we will just see PS3 version in mid/end 2012 and start paying at that time also (I don't mind play for free loool, but I'm sure Square Enix minds lol)

You guys are all nuts, this game isn't ready for any PS3 release, It's not even ready for the PC release that it was released in. By stopping payment they've basicly gone back to beta with all the drastic changes. Releasing this now on PS3 is a GAME OVER in my opinion.

Patience isnt always a viable solution. The PS3 is being targeted by MMORPG developers now, and there are a few released (DCUO, FreeRealms), a few in the works (The Agency, an NCSoft MMO), and more "hinted" at or underwraps that are on their way. While none of these (so far) are ground breaking, all it takes is one quality MMORPG on the PS3 before FFXIV's release to put a huge dent in their re-release.

That being said I am well aware that a poor release can be just as costly, its a tightrope you walk thats for sure, I hope you make the right choices Square Enix.

This game is like FFXI in its VERY FIRST YEAR, except they can't fool people into paying for it. There is nothing to do, we have sorta unoriginal classes which need balancing. FFXI was in the same state its first year for PC users, by the time they got to PS2 release, they had added more content (new jobs), but it was still just leveling, I really don't think there's excuse for releasing a game in the same state as your first mmo in its first year, we are no where near ready for a ps3 release, ps3 people in general would need to be drawn into this game harder than pc people (its true go look at mmos on consoles, there's a huge divide between "hardcore" meaning pc, i don't agree with this but sometimes console users are more casual)

We would need our first major expansion before they can release this to ps3 users, in my opinion.

In my opinion i don't believe it is ready to be released on PS3 needs a load on contact to keep them playing an things that if worth paying for to play. I think having over 100 quests per starting area and more probably side storys. I know this is asking a lot but what has made other MMOs popular am not saying make it exactly the same but have something there that keeps us playing. A PS3 release is far away and a expiation would be far away as well until they sort out the mecanices and give use more content that is worth paying for.

Well it came out on PS2 before PC. PC was just first platform in NA and it was over a year after the J release and another 5 months before the NA PS2 release. So by your reasoning it took them almost 2 years to make it into something worth paying for. Soooo since FFXIV is just as bad as it was half way through we can expect another 2 years.
