    Graphics keeps crashing, TDR errors

I recently did a major rebuild of my old Desktop computer, almost a whole new machine, but now when I try to play FFXIV (the only thing I play that really needs graphics power), I get Timeout Detection and Recovery (TDR) errors every few seconds.

I'm thinking I need to use an older driver so if anyone could suggest one (and where to get it if it's not on the official site anymore), that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    I use:
    OS: Windows 7 64 bit SP1 Home
    PSU: Thermaltake TR2 800w
    Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty H97-PERFORMANCE/ H97/ 4 x DDR3/ 1 x PCI-E3.0/ 1 x PCI-E2.0 x 1/ 3 x PCI/ 6 x SA
    CPU: Intel BX80646I54590 I5-4590,3.3GHZ,4CORES,6MB CACHE,LGA1150
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V Plus CPU Water Cooler
    Graphics Card: Gigabyte N960WF2OC-2GD 2G DDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDMI DP DVI-D DVI-I WINDFORCE 2X
RAM: Kingston HX316C10FBK2/16 16GB Kit HyperX Fury Black 1600Mhz DDR3

Edit: I've tried the current driver and the one just before it, both have the same TDR issue.

I couldn't find any earlier graphics drivers that supported this card so decided to change the operating system to Windows 8.1 64 bit instead.

    Exact same problems continuing.

    I don't know what to do anymore ;.;

I am no means an expert, but did you hook up the correct pins from the PSU to you 960? Sounds like it might be not enough power issue. Also you can make sure it is seated properly and that your monitor is correctly hooked up to your gpu. 800w is more than enough power for that setup that's why I suggest checking to make sure you have correcly used the right amount of pins. The next step would be to download an find something that is graphically demanding like an Overclocking program and see if it still crashes. Sometimes you get a bad draw on the wafer and have to send it back for a replacement. If you have a backup GPU install that and see if it still gives you the time out error. Hope some of these steps help.

    Thank you.

The card was correctly installed. I have 2 backups, one in the motherboard itself (very weak, can only get about 12fps in FFXIV, but it doesn't cause the TDR crashes) and I've just started using a weak old graphics card that my mother was using in her computer (by no means ideal, she no longer has a graphics card and this one is only able to get up to about 40fps in FFXIV but it also doesn't crash).

We've tried extending the timeout delay to 18 seconds by editing the registry, we've tried different drivers, we've tried different operating systems (this 8.1 being a completely fresh new install on a new hard drive), other cards and on board graphics (although MUCH weaker) don't have these issues.

About the only thing left to try is to take the card back and either get a replacement or a different type.
