Insufferable lag for the past 2 days

To whom it may concern.

I have been suffering from quite many bouts with lag these last couple of days (starting on what I assume was Saturday morning). The issue is lag comes in waves, having everything slow down, stop and then resume action many frames ahead, much like it is when you have that kind of latency issues.

I thought it was my ISP, so I called both them and did tests on my own to see what the issue might have been. My ISP (in Mexico) says everything is okay and I concur with them, since my own tests have also proven to be proper and working as intended. I don't have lag with other games nor do I have latency issues anywhere else... except in FFXIV.

tl;dr: I have had lag for the past two days. ISP in Mexico says everything is okay and I can play other games without lag or latency problems. I do not have an antivirus or a pesky firewall and my only problem is with FFXIV.

Could it be a problem with the server? Maybe another kind of issue? Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

I personally didnt have lags but my static had... I guess the usual pre-patch issues. i simply hope for it to be fixed till next raid (wednesday, so hotfixes should be before \o/ )

It's likely a problem along your route specifically to Ormuco (SE's Datacenter ISP) in Montreal, Canada. Your other games and such likely are not getting routed through the same congested nodes used to get into Montreal. When talking to your ISP, they were likely only looking at the more localized segments. You need to push to get tier3 involved to investigate your entire route. Chances are, they may find issues tied to their routing partner(s) used to get you to Ormuco in Montreal. They should be able to either request their partner to investigate/address such issue(s), or make adjustments of their own to get you around the congested corridor--which may involve switching you to an alternative routing partner. Ormuco peers directly with 5 major top tier ISP's, so this is a viable option for your ISP to consider.

Here are some addresses you can forward to your ISP's support to use for testing. They are the currently registered DNS names for the lobby servers in Montreal, which will get them looking into the proper subnet and ASN ID's for investigating things further:

I started having terrible lag yesterday after running the game fine for a few months. Just standing idle in Coerthas my sending/receiving is 0/1987. The game is nigh unplayable.
