I was more pointing out that if they really want to give feedback they should not purchase the game. I don't think that will happen as I think most people here want to continue playing and will be willing to pay the price for it and will rationalize it some how (maybe not everyone). And if someone buys it, it's basically saying to SE yeah you put it at the right price for me.

Not buying their game is a vague suggestion to the company, at best. There's many conclusions they can come to from lower profits, but without asking customers, they wouldn't know.

Even still. It's not something worth questioning, or trying to change. It's a fine line for businesses to 'haggle' prices with customers. The customer will always want either equivalent, or lesser than the amount that would actually allow the company to make any decent profit. That's nice and all for the consumer, but then the business is at higher risk of failure, the lesser their profit. Just let the business professionals do what they do in making these prices, and understand that it's a tough pill to swallow.

They make the prices with a mixture of greed, market trends, what's reasonable and not, and I'm sure tons of other variables. The consumer has it easy in saying that the price is 'too high', but the best perspective we have on the 'right' price is the perceived value we get from the entertainment inside. It's all fine and dandy, we're right to have opinions as consumers, but it isn't going to help us, or the company if they're losing money instead of making it lol.

Hardly, it is probably the most telling thing you can do. Seeing less than expected sales will force a change in price as long as the company feels it will increase their profits to do so. Posters say it's too high of a price. If they truly believe that then they shouldn't buy it.

It doesn't preclude other things as input for better understanding but saying it's too high of a price then going out and buying it doesn't really tell SE anything other than that SE set the right price.

I feel the price point is fine /shrug I'll be buying it along with probably the majority of everyone else.

I disagree with this statement, people already voted with their wallets during 1.0 and succeeded in getting the entire game revamped because of it. That said, I think it's the only way for people to really get their way. The hard part is getting other people to agree enough to not play the game that they're dying to play.

I don't think see any problem with the expansion price either though. I've never played a game that didn't charge for their expansions, nothing new to see here folks. Odds are the expansion is coming with over 100 hours worth of entertainment (call it what you will but I consider it entertainment) and that makes me feel like I'm getting my monies worth, subscription or not.

40 USD is not much at all. If it is 40 GBP though then it is expensive since 40 USD is only around 25 GBP if converted. The UK amazon site lists for example the console versions for around 44-47 GBP which equals around 70+ USD but it does not list the PC price. Keep in mind none of these price listings are set in stone and I think they are placeholders or estimates for time being only.

I am hoping they don't rip me off too much just because live in the UK as opposed to the US, I hope the PC digital version is no more than 30 GBP, any more than that and it is becoming expensive for a PC game or expansion which tends to be cheaper than console versions anyways. D3 RoS expansion for example only cost me 22 GBP for new digital version, that was fair price in my opinion for expansions in general being approx 20-30 GBP / 30-45 USD.

If it is 40+ GBP though for normal non-CE digital version of the expansion aka 70+ in USD, then sorry but won't be buying till price drops drastically. What I am willing to spend is kind of set in stone from habit already, on PC up to 35 GBP for new standard version PC game, up to 60 GBP for CE version of new PC game and ideally around 25 GBP for new expansions to pre-existing PC games though I might stretch to 30 GBP at most. Outside of that I would wait till prices drop in those sort of ranges as I have always done.

Fair enough I had no intention of reading every single post in here, but that is not what the majority of my comment is directed towards...pricing in US is different to UK and currently the expansion is not listed on the UK store. 40 USD is not expensive, it's around 25 GBP but if when is listed on EU/UK store ends up being 40 GBP then that is expensive. So I hope it's not more than 20-30 GBP over here, ideally 25 GBP which equals 40 USD...at that price it would be a good price to me.

I paid $100 for my collectors edition at the official 1.0 release. The reason the game was cheaper at ARR launch is because a large number of people (they broke pre-order records for an mmo with 1.0 release) had already purchased the game. There was also a period of time when 1.0 was discounted dramatically (down as low as $10) and if you happened to purchase one of those original copies it was still upgradeable to ARR for free.

To me $40 seems pretty standard for an expansion these days, I'm surprised it's not higher than that to be honest. You have triple a titles releasing $20-30 season passes for not even close to the amount of content being released in this expansion.

The only ripoff here in my opinion will be having to purchase it twice in order to play on ps4 and pc but I don't think SE has much sway in that since Sony probably set those terms to begin with. That's not confirmed but I'm pretty sure it will be necessary based on information we know now.
