Though you have to keep in mind that this is a universe where Lalafell exist and are taken seriously.
And one of Gridania's neighboring countries is ruled by one. I somehow can't picture Ul'dahns disparaging Gridania for the childlike appearance of Padjals. Maybe she's just trying to impress the Lominsans.

As far as I know Kan E has always been a prodigy amongst Padjals/ Seed Seers.
At a young age she prohepecized that a drought/ locust infestationwill occure, thus preventing famine. Afterwards she we taken into the CNJ where she passed with flying colors at a young age. I think she bacame a regular seed seer afterwards and lived out in the woods to communicate with the Elemental.
She came back to become the elder seed seer. In 1.0 it was O app essi that was the guild leader and it was actually e sumi yan that was his mentor. O app esi sucked at the job, so e sumi took over in 2.0.
As far as I know, Kan E Senna became the leader due to her skills and not because e sumi looked to young.
As for E Sumi's influence? He's the leader of the CNJ guild so I'm pretty sure he's got some say on some matters, like who amongst the students have potential to be seed seers/hearers. Who to assign at which military branch, etc

It would be somewhat of a disadvantage being in a child like body while trying to get people to respect your age and wisdom. To be honest, I imagine it would be pretty frustrating have the age stop early anyway.
I'm curious if Padjal do ever show any signs of ageing. The reason I say this is It struck me the A-Towa-Cant had silvery hair that, at least to me, gave him a more aged appearance even if his face was childlike. I'm also curious why more of the Padjal aren't trained in White Magic as it seems to be an important Job in the maintenance of their relationship with the forest.

Both E-sumi-yan and O-app-pesi have white/pale hair as well. Only the Sennas do not.I'm curious if Padjal do ever show any signs of ageing. The reason I say this is It struck me the A-Towa-Cant had silvery hair that, at least to me, gave him a more aged appearance evem if his face was childlike. I'm also curious why more of the Padjal aren't trained in White Magic as it seems to be an important Job in the maintenance of their relationship with the forest.
Also I am not sure but I believe all Padjal pass along the art of White Magic to new Padjal, whether they are proficient or not. O-App-pesi seems non-inclined to magic at all and E-sumi-yan is head of the conjurers guild and I am sure he knows white magic only he is in such a prevalent position he would not be able to freely teach it. He teaches the diluted version of Conjury already.

Actually, O App Pesi has dark brown/ black hair.
Also, I had no idea Kan E is using a glamour to look look a bit older. I guess it make sense since's she's the oldest looking padjal we've seen. That and no one has ever seen a Padjal outside of Gridania, so I kinda makes sense (from a political standpoint) that she doesn't want Gridanians appearing "weak" to foreigners since they are ruled by horned children.
I guess only a select few of Padjals can become WHM and it seems like only the 3 Senna siblings are the only WHM's (excluding the PC). I wonder why? Maybe the Elementals (and other padjals) didn't like A Towa Cant leaving Gridania and traveling?

Well, it's E-Sumi-Yan who makes the decision that our character needs to be trained as a White Mage. I don't quite remember all the details of that quest, but I thought it brought up E-Sumi being a White Mage himself.
Remember when it comes to White Magic that with the exception of a small few (That being some Pajal and the PC) that White Magic as a whole is a forbidden art as it was one of the leading factors to the 6th Calamity aka the great flood. Black Magic is considered a Forbidden Dark Art in Ul'dah for the same reason, because Black Magic was partially responsible for the 6th Umbral Era. As for The Scholar, remember that there were no Survivors of Nym. The Few that did became Tonberrys after The Tonberry plague infected the entire civilization.

All Padjal are trained in White Magic. They are the only ones the elementals allow to be (well, besides the player character), so it's a very important part of their culture. White Magic is an extension of Conjury, but in its most advanced form. It's too powerful to be wielded by just anyone, so the Elementals restrict who can learn it in order to keep some balance and prevent another Umbral Era. Without White Mages teaching the art of conjuring, Conjurers wouldn't exist. It's more or less a system of "Hey, we're going to allow some of you full VIP access to everything, but in return you must pass on a LIMITED knowledge of what you know."

Yeah, but that kinda makes the WHM quest even more ridiculous. It's probably due to plot and it has been a while, but it's pretty silly that they had to do this important ritual to quell the anger of the Great One and only 3 WHM can do it. Kan E couldn't do it since shes lol busy. Not sure about the O App Pesi and E Sumi's reasons.
I do remember we were sent to by E Sumi help the Senna siblings then somehow A Towa's soul crystal manifested itself to us which convinced Raya O to teach us WHM
