So I really want to get back into this again

The furthest i ever progressed with a guild and raid group was doing t5. I quit playing probably around August in 2014. I got a ps4 and got really sucked into Destiny. I still play it a good bit and raid when i have time. I played a lil bit of ffxiv over the weekend on both my ps4 and my pc. I cant get used to playing it on the ps4. I started the game on pc and I just feel way more comfortable on it. I havent checked out the Golden Saucer yet but I am excited to do so. So, with all that being said, is there anything i can do to prep myself for Heavensward that will get me super sucked into the game again? I have a ilvl 101 WHM and 90 WAR. Working on a BLM cuz i want an option for DPS in groups. Any suggestions?

Triple triad and chocobo racing have a lot of non-core game possibilities, can earn Fenrir over time as well as a number of costumes and minions. That Yoshida said top dungeon gear won't be replaced right at level 51 means you could gear one of your jobs out to ilvl130, and have a head start. I would level other classes with your leve points too since the level cap may introduce things that may shift interest and you'll not want to play significant catch up (plus you don't want to have a limited resource competing on many classes, so use it when you have it :P).

Be careful investing loads of Gil at this point unless you intend to make it back before the expansion, it will change so much your gear may not be worth the investment of such a short time. Similar to leve's you can also level up your beast men ranks, which earn you mounts and minions along with some special ingredient purchases - and again is a limited resource you don't need to stack (ixali will earn the best Gil at max and some leves can drop decent sellable items too).

Can always earn a relic too, best ilvl weapon atm- but depending on how SE goes about the next stage may just be a long processed glamour piece.

Thanks man, this is all great advice. Will start back on those Ixali dailys. I didnt know if these were obsolete by now. I had a lot of fun doing hunts back when i was playing so might do some of those and also sending my retainers out on ventures. Seriously so stoked about Golden Saucer. I didnt know you could get Fenrir mount from it. I'm sitting on about 600k gil atm. I seriously want a house, but i think all the smalls and mediums on my server are bought out and i dont know if 600k is enough anyway. I have the upgraded weapon on my WHM. Need to run some of those new hard mode dungeons i havent done yet as heals to get back into the swing of things.

You can make some decent money selling sealants (buy with ixali oak knots). 100k sometimes on my server. I recommend using the limited resource contents when helpful like leve for gathering and crafting because it's so easy and effective (DoW, DoM too except maybe tank and healer dungeons pop really fast lol), and you can only hold 99 at once. Using all the leves for what you need now will save your leves for the new content. I'm not sure if beastmen content will be daily locked in heavensward but if it is you don't want to be sharing that limited daily resource with the new stuff (also you can get mounts and stuff :P). A tip to level crafting and gathering along using leves is to also do your daily grand company requisitions. Don't go broke though :P.

Keep in mind for Golden Saucer that there is a daily cactpot lottery and a weekly, be sure to at least get into the weekly and then check if you won on your servers set date. The weekly can earn you big points.

For calmly gearing up a class do the expert roulette a few times a week the first time a day roulette runs is a great bonus. Also be sure to complete the labyrinth, crystal tower, and world of darkness quest once a week to get twine (left side upgrade) or coat (right side) to upgrade your ilvl ironworks 120 to 130. World of darkness has a weekly drop limit but also has 120 gear. You can have fun with the new coils but unless for glamour you may see a lot of stress out of gear that will be replaced at level 60 (but pretty and fun lol).
