New to FFXIV

So I am actually a Legacy Member but never got past lvl 2O\\'s my first time playing ARR.
I am back as of yesterday on the Behemoth server lvl 18 so far I am having a blast !!

How long have you been playing, what do you love about FFXIV?

What tips and tricks can you share with a newbie?

What should new things should I be excited about?

Also who here is playing on PS4? As well as what users here are in the Behemoth server?

Easy there, first at all: Welcome!

What tips and tricks can you share with a newbie?
Try to not do to many levequests to lv up your first class, rely more in dungeons and main scenario quests or fate grinding.

What should new things should I be excited about?
The multiple class/cross class system is cool. Be excited (yeah, I made this joke) for fighting classic Final Fantasy Enemies like Ifrit or Garuda :3

Also who here is playing on PS4? As well as what users here are in the Behemoth server?
I play on PS4 too, but my server is cactuar.

Good luck with that. Leveling with some friends is really fast and fun (especially if you have a light party, 2 DPS 1 Tank 1 Healer)

I played 1.0 to level 20 but got bored with it and my old machine couldn't handle it either. So I quit until 2.0. Been playing since relaunch.

I love the environments, the music, the story (especially Hildibrand!), the players. As a casual player (mother of a 2 year old) I never find myself with nothing to do. There is always another job to level, another craft, another relic weapon etc.

Tips. Hmm. Not sure really ha. I'd say have fun leveling, don't rush. Watch cutscenes if you wish. Ignore negative people. You can quickly get some higher iLv gear at 50 from Crystal tower raids and tomes from roulettes and such. Relic weapon is quite the grind too so worth starting asap if you want to do that. Most seem to agree a finished relic will help more in Coil raids then the best gear tomes can buy.

New things, well, the Manderville Gold Saucer is soon to come! Looks great fun. You can colour your chocobo companions now too which is nice. Need a Free Company with stables though. Plenty of Primal fights and raids/hard mode dungeons. You'll have lots to do as a new player. ^^

I'm a PC user on Odin so others will have to help you out on those questions. :3

Some areas of the forums you might want to visit: New Player Help and Behemoth.

As for tips -- be sure to do your storyline quests. The Main and class/job quests are designed to be a tutorial for the game. I normally pick up any available quest when I see it. Also do read the text, the story and the characters and fun and sometimes the developers sneak "training" into the npc's dialogue.

Be sure to pick up the challenge log from a level 15 quest in Limsa's adventure's guild. The challenge log gives you Gil, exp and seals for completing certain tasks each week, like running three guildhests or three dungeons through roulette.

I'd do every dungeon at least once before trying endgame even if the Main Scenario does not require it as each one introduces new mechanics.

And for a forum trick, you can edit your post to bypass the character limit.
